I'll be traveling to Montreal for the first time later this summer for a weeklong vacation. I always like to sample the gay life of a town when visiting. I would appreciate any recommendations that anyone could make regarding Montreal including lodging, strip clubs, escort resources (especially on the web)and clubs.

Thanks.

I know that I have posted this before:

http://www.fugues.com

Fugues is the gay magazine in Montreal. Thr printed copy is available everywhere on Rue Ste. Catherine in the Gay Village. the printed version is entirely in French, but youcan figure most things out. It has escort ads in the back.

Friends of mine have had good luck with those escort ads, and after you exchange your money, they are great bargains. You can also check out the male strip clubs (Campus, Stock, L'Addonis, Taboo), and you will find many dancers (but not all) who would be happy to have a private session in your room. This is like window shopping. You get to see exactly what you are getting. Be sure to discuss with the boys exactly what you want. Some dancers are not "full-service"; but the ones that are are great.

The online version of Fugues has English translation, and is filled with information about clubs, saunas, bars, restraunts, etc. The online version does not have ads in it.

Sometimes the printed version of Fugues is available in gay bookstores in major cities. I know that I've seen it in Boston and New York.

But, once you get to Montreal, especially in the summer, just a stroll down Rue Ste. Catherine (Est) and you will easily fined everything that you are looking for. The natives are very friendly and helpful, and it is pretty easy to get by with English. The Gay Village is usually pulsing with activity on a warm summer day. Its all there for you.

Enjoy your vacation. Montreal is my favorite fun destination.

When I go to Montreal, I like staying at the Gouveners. It is a nice hotel and is in the middle of the gay village. It is also around the corner from Campus and the Stock Bar. Adonis and Tabbo are the other two strip bars that I like are within walking distance as well. If you want a listing of the smaller gay B and B's, they have some in the Spartacus Magazine.

Some further tips on the strip club scene. Taboo is very young appearing dancers but most tend to be very let's say fey if not fem. L'Adonis tends to be young and most - not all - tend to be more straight acting. Saturday afternoons are tryout time and can be very interesting. Campus afternoon dancers tend to be this same profile and nightime dancers tend to be a little older, butcher and more muscle types as do those at Stock (only open at night). Most are available for privates at $150 to $200 Canadian, or about 65 cents on the dollar. As a regular visitor I can tell you it's a great city. Be sure to see it all and not just get lost in the village and the wonderful array of boys and men. By the way, direct selection in the clubs is far, far more reliable than using any of the agencies, unfortunately.
