Ali Gator Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 Some of the competitive highlights this season will be: Which musical revival grabs the Tony for 'Best Revival' - 'Sunset Blvd' or 'Gypsy'. Which actress will grab 'Best Actress' in a musical - Audra or Nicole ? SB got seven nominations in total, while Gypsy got 5. Since debuting on Broadway, Nicole has gotten nothing but praise for her performance in SB, from critics and fans alike. On the other hand Audra has gotten mostly praise from critics, while mixed reviews from fans. It will be interesting to see who takes the Tony home.

There was an incident with Nicole some months back about a tweet or something I recall reading about. I think it ruffled some feathers. If voters want an excuse, they will use that. I thought she gave a brilliant performance. Absolutely stunning. Audra was electrifying! Also terrific. She’s a beloved figure in the community. Will voters extend her record or give another woman her first Tony? I think the roles are very different and demanding in their own right. In a perfect world, Megan Hilty should have won a Tony by now. And Helen J Shen should have been nominated. shinj518 and thomas 2
Ali Gator Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 If Nicole wins, expect SB to extend it's run beyond the July 13th closing announcement. She will probably stay through the holiday season.
