I've been watching some episodes of the original Charmed where he played Phoebe's boyfriend for a while, and I just couldn't get over how incredibly handsome he was (see below). One of those guys you think-wow what would it be like to look like that (not to necessarily be him-he's had problems with drug addiction and depression) Even at 52 he's still a really handsome guy.  But to find out you have ALS. It's devastating . Devastating for anyone obviously. But he's in the public eye-and thank G-d I don't know anyone with it.

His nickname on Grey's Anatomy was McSteamy.  He's been married to Rebecca Gayheart since 2002.  She filed for divorce in 2018 but they never finalized it and she recently withdrew her application.
