Sad news in the music world. Carl Dean, Dolly Parton's husband of nearly 60 years, died Monday at 82. No cause of death was announced, and funeral services will be private.

Dean was said to be the inspiration of Parton's hit song "Jolene". In an interview 40 years after she recorded the song, she said it was inspired by a bank teller who was a 'little too flirty' with her handsome husband. Parton, 79, said her husband spent an 'awful long time each day to do his banking', and it was because of the pretty teller.

The public never really saw Dean, as he was a very private person and shunned award ceremonies and other events in honor of his wife, just to stay out of the public spotlight and paparazzi. Only a few photos of him have surfaced from the first 20 years of his marriage to Parton.
