This weekend, I made my second visit to Mr. TJ Massages . I opted for the Zona Centro location to try the Turkish bath, and my masseur this time was Mr. Sergio—a name that now deserves a standing ovation.

In hindsight, winter probably isn’t the best time to try a Turkish bath in an unheated area. On a warmer day, though, I imagine this could feel like pure bliss instead of an audition for a cold-weather survival show.

The setup is pretty unique. There’s a massage table in an open area where the masseur soaps you up and massages you. They also use a technique where they create an insane amount of foam and basically transform you into a human bubble wrap. They massage both your back and front, and if you go for the tantric option, the masseur takes things a little further. The Turkish tantric bath includes 30 minutes in the bath and 30 minutes of massage. Being the extra person I am, when I booked via WhatsApp, I asked to extend the massage to an hour.

After the bath, we moved to a private room for the tantric massage.

Since this was my second visit, I felt more relaxed and at ease, which helped me enjoy the experience even more. Mr. Sergio’s technique was very good, I’d say B+ almost an A. He even went over the allotted time and was exceptionally kind, affectionate, and accommodating. Let’s just say he’s raised the bar so high that I might be ruined for all other masseurs.

Cost Breakdown:

For the 30-minute tantric Turkish bath and the 60-minute tantric massage (which actually turned into about 80 minutes), I paid 2,100 pesos (around $105). I tipped the masseur $25 directly. They accept credit cards for payment, but I always make sure to tip in cash—it feels more personal. 

The standard combo of a 30-minute tantric Turkish bath and a 30-minute tantric massage costs 1,399 pesos (about $70). It’s a good deal!!!

Additional Notes:

• There are about 12 masseurs, but only three are regularly at the Zona Centro location. You can request one from Zona Río, but it’s like asking someone to commute in rush hour—it may not always work out. Still, no harm in trying.

• Zona Centro is in an older building that’s not exactly luxurious, and the surrounding area could use a glow-up. However, Zona Centro offers the Turkish massage, which Zona Río does not.

• Zona Río, on the other hand, has more masseurs to choose from, and the building feels more upscale. It’s the “fancy cousin” in this equation.

• Tip generously! These masseurs are employees of a company and don’t pocket the full amount you pay. It’s not like hiring an independent masseur from masseurfinder or rentmasseur. 

And one more thing—don’t ask for their personal contact info. It’s against the rules, and they could get penalized if management finds out they’re trying to contact clients directly. Better to keep things smooth for everyone!

So if I’m following correctly, the Turkish Bath is a a standard offering, but you were able to add tantric to the bath portion…..as well as the massage portion?   How busy is the Zona Centro location? Do they have a lot of rooms and are there a lot of clients there at the same time? So they have spa amenities like a jacuzzi, sauna or steam room?

On the Turkish bath, they offer two main options:

• Regular Turkish bath: 30 minutes Turkish bath and 15 minutes of massage.

• Tantric Turkish bath: 30 minutes Turkish bath and 30 minutes of massage.

I opted for the tantric package and upgraded the massage to 60 minutes, so my session was 30 minutes in the bath and 60 minutes of massage.

I usually visit in the morning when it’s not busy. On my first visit, I was the only one there, though by the time I finished, another guest was waiting in the reception area. I imagine it gets busier later in the day or on weekends. They seem to operate from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

I tend to make it a half-day trip: massage, followed by a visit to my barber, and then lunch—either solo or with friends who live in Tijuana.

The setup at Zona Centro is very basic: three small rooms along a hallway, a small bathroom, and a larger room for the Turkish bath, which includes two regular showers. There’s also a spacious area on the other side where 2–4 masseurs can work simultaneously.

What to expect:

• No spa-like atmosphere, no bathtubs, and no jacuzzis. This location is in an older building in downtown Tijuana. It’s as far from upscale as it gets—think gritty charm with an edgy, seedy vibe.

I requested Sergio for my session and was lucky that he’s based at Zona Centro. While you can request any masseur, it might be more complicated to schedule someone whose base is not Zona Centro. I was told that Zona Río is generally busier, which is why they have more masseurs stationed there.

I visited for a Turkish bath and a Tantric massage, originally quoted via instagram at 2,100 pesos following @7829V’s awesome comprehensive advice. Booking was simple—they sent me a map link and confirmed my appointment promptly. I arrived about five minutes late, which wasn’t an issue, but there was some confusion about the services and pricing when I got there. Getting to and from Tijuana was a bit of a challenge and I’ve done it several times. One of the crossings at San Ysidro was closed, so I recommend adding extra commute time if you’re planning a similar trip to park, walk across the border, and then uber. Uber in Tijuana was convenient and hassle-free, but leaving and reentering the U.S. was unpredictable. The line to reenter took about 45 minutes—the line was very long but moved quickly. I’m planning to get SENTRI again so I can use the expedited lanes for walking or driving next time.

I saw Sergio.  Tantric massage was very thorough and the masseur had a great body and attitude.  Although it was certainly not an escort situation the MT and HE was sufficient.  They charged me $2,200 pesos for 90 minutes, more than what was quoted on instagram but I didn't mind.  I opted not to do the Turkish bath and only focused on a firm massage, which was done very well and went through the allotted time.  The setting is very edgy/bare bones lol, I sort of like it that way but be advised if you like luxury the "centro" location is not giving that at all.  782 your review was pretty on point -thank you!
