Ali Gator Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 November 17, 1994 - Glenn Close opened on Broadway in 'Sunset Boulevard' to stellar reviews which turned into a Tony winning performance. One reviewer said, "the mansion has landed", crediting the decadent, state-of-the-art moving mansion as the real star of the show. There was more 'behind the scenes' drama over this Andrew Lloyd Webber musical than any other show which had opened on B'way, and probably since. Too bad there was no internet then - we would have had front row seats to all the drama.
