Hi.

 

I will be returning to Toronto in a couple of weeks. As usual I intend to spend my evenings at Remingtons. It's been a couple of months since I was up there so I wonder if there's anything new. We had a pretty long discussion going here a while back on Toronto and Remingtons... I fully intend to put enough $$$ in my budget this time to enjoy a little time away from the club with Ethan (hopefully he will be around). :-)

The good news is that Ethan appears in Remington's these days regularly (I didn't see him last weekend, though.) The bad news is that he's the ONLY Asian who dances in Remington's, which is a pity since Toronto has some of the best looking Asians anywhere (especially those with mixed Asian/Caucasian descent.) Still, with the likes of Young Blood, JT and Movae there to feast your eyes (and other organs ;-)) on, I really can’t complain! Going to Remington’s every weekend (how can I resist, it’s a 20 minute walk from where I live) is such a delightful experience that it seems almost surreal. You have to try it to know what I’m talking about…

Hey TOGuy. I've also been struck walking around town by how many adorable Asian guys there are in Toronto. I had never seen any Asians at Remingtons until I met Ethan there in August. I think he told me he was planning to go to Las Vegas at some time this fall, but I don't know how serious he was or how long he planned to be there. We had a lot of fun in the booths too, and he really seemed to want me to take him back to my hotel, but I had already spent most of my entertainment budget by then and really just couldn't afford it. So he spent the rest of the evening all over me in the club instead. He made me feel very special that weekend. I guess maybe I'll see you there if you're around every weekend! I think living there would be dangerous for me; I'd probably be broke! I will be there 11/9-11/12.

 

My taste tends to be pretty twink-y, so the big muscle guys don't do much for me. But there are usually enough pretty boys around. I get a kick out of just sitting and watching the boys work the room, it's really very interesting. This time I'm staying at the Delta Chelsea so I'm practically right across the street which will be nice for walking back late at night.

Don't worry NYO. On the weekends they probably have at least 20 guys a night working there. The big shift change happens around 9 or 10 PM when the afternoon guys leave and the night guys arrive. And I'll leave you all of the big muscle guy, there are always lots of them... Just leave me the cute little guys. And I'm sure since TOguy has them all to himself every week he'll be happy to cut us visitors some slack. :-)

I've just had two HEAVENLY nights in Remington's! Friday and Saturday nights were among the best that I've ever had in that male paradise. Most of the gorgeous guys that I've gotten to know there and a few equally gorgeous new ones made an appearance. Young Blood, Travis, Kirk (yep, that Kirk!), Zeus, JT, Dillon, Jesse, Ethan, Dolph, CJ Steel and Sunny ALL showed up. A bunch of mouth-watering old & new Montreal hunks that I can't remember the names of also showed up and were like the icing on a very delicious cake. Any one of these exquisite male specimens would've set any strip joint on fire, so having them together made it a super special weekend, even by Remington's standards. With the place packed with hyperventilating customers and almost as many dancers, no heating was needed despite the sub-zero temperature :-) The only problem I have now is that I'm broke, but hey, if there was a better way to spend my money, I haven't yet found it ;-)

Actually there have been a *few* Asian guys working at Remingtons over the years - but not nearly enough!

 

Way back when the place first opened there was an Asian dancer called "Jay" - he was fairly tall, came from Hong Kong originally, I think, but had lived most of his life in Canada.

 

A few years later there was "Chance" - who also escorted in Toronto using the name "Jeff" - he was an amateur bodybuilder and quite muscular.

 

Then there was "Nicky" a *really* hot Filipino who had a very nice tight hard body when he was working down at Remingtons - after he left Remingtons he put on more muscle and was looking great the last time I saw him - about 2 years ago.

 

Finally there was "Ethan" - I saw him at Remingtons exactly 2 years ago - I remember because it was Halloween that night - as you have probably guessed, I prefer my Asians to be masculine and muscular ... but Ethan was just *so* cute and *so* sweet.

I used to live in Toronto in the '70s and I guess things have changed significantly. I will be going back there soon would love to visit Reminton's. Everybody extols its virtues, but I would really appreciate a little discussion of how it all works. For instance, are the guys generally available to "private shows"? Do these take place on the premises or at the clients home/hotel? I like goodlooking guys waving their dicks in my face but I really like it better closer and in private. Thanks for whatever info you can provide.

There are many more threads on Remington's -- both in here and in the Lounge -- which will fill you in on how the place works and what the individual dancers are willing to provide. Thus, I'll give only a brief answer to your questions here.

 

Remington's opens at 3 pm and closes around 2:30 am, seven days a week. The first dancers arrive around 3:30 pm -- and the number on hand ranges from 6-8 in the afternoon to as many as 30 on a busy Friday or Saturday night. There are two shifts, which change around 10 pm. The early crew tends to be more boyish; the late crew more muscular and beefy.

 

Each dancer performs, in turn, for about 10 minutes on stage. Generally they start clothed and are completely nude by the end of their routines. In between, the dancers circulate among the audience and try to arrange "private dances" in the cubicles upstairs. The rate per dance is Can$20 -- and these also last about 10 minutes. You can, of course, purchase as many consecutive dances as you please. Or, as happened during my visit in September, negotiate a price for a particular activity. Management makes no attempt to "regulate" to the scope of the action. It's totally up to the individual dancer -- and that often depends on what the client is willing to pay. With the right dancer, you can do just about anything that can be physically accomplished in the 5' by 5' cubicles.

 

Most of the guys are available for private sessions away from the club. Prices seems to center around Can$200 per hour. The Delta Chelsea hotel is located directly across the street from Remington's and is particularly convenient if you want to bring dancers to your hotel room.

I'd make a minor correction to what you say... The C$20 per dance is per song...which means about 4-5 minutes, not 10 minutes.

 

Has the "official" price finally been raised? Used to be C$10 per song. Then it changed to C$10 per song with no touching and $20 per song for almost anything goes, at least that's what the dancers all seemed to agree upon as the fee structure.

 

The private show price or escort price in general in Toronto does seem to be around C$200 per hour. Not all of the guys will do private shows, but it doesn't hurt to ask, they've all been asked a million times I'm sure!

Dances in Remington's are still C$10-20/song. Most dancers will agree on C$10/song for a "full" service, depending on how their business was that night. Other factors include how many dances you have in mind (almost any dancer will accept C$10/song if you take him for 5 or more songs) and whether or not you are a repeat customer. As a rule of thump, don't pay $20 unless you absolutely have to (like if you're nuts about a guy who just wouldn't accept $10!) since the $20-to-touch rule was invented by the dancers. I never paid more than C$10/song and I dance with Remington's crème de la crème, albeit for quite a few dances at a time. I'm sure all this must've been discussed to death in other threads on this board, but I thought I'd give my 2 cents since I go to Remington's A LOT! Enjoy ;-)

I guess I'm just a pushover. :-) I usually ask before we start and since they all say $10 no touch/$20 touch I guess I just didn't figure there was any point in negotiating.

 

Here's another question for you TorontoGuy since you go to Remington's so much. When I was there was back in March I met this adorable little blond guy called Sebastian (I think). Nicely defined body, short, big nose, really sweet, probably about 19 or 20. It was his first week working there then. I didn't see him when I was there in August though (a big disappointment). Do you happen to know if he's still working there?

 

Wow, I'll be back up there in a week, seems hard to believe. Thank goodness for Air Canada and their frequent sales. ;-)

fedssocr, Sebastian still shows up in Remington's once in a while (last time I saw him was mid-October), so keep your fingers crossed! You might not recognize him since he lost the glasses and wears his hair short these days, and looks sexier for it!

 

shy, I still can't remember Bruno! He probably worked just that night when you saw him and never showed up again.. Not to worry, though; Brett is as reliable as sunrise (he's there every weekend) and the place is usually choke-full with Montreal's finest.

 

Oh, I almost forgot, this weekend was almost a repeat of the stellar one I had last week. Remington's is truly on a roll and the "quality" of dancers is currently the best in the seven year history of the place.

Well, I just returned from Toronto and all I can say is HOLY SHIT! I totally blew my entertainment budget, but it was worth every penny, or at least almost every penny!

 

3 fun nights at Remington's, you guys were right, the quality is pretty amazing there these days. TOGuy, it turns out that "Zach" is the dancer I was thinking of, I guess he changed his name from Sebastian.

 

It was fun to see "Ethan" again, but my socks were totally blown off by "Christian". That boy is just too incredible. He seems to have already built up quite a following after working there for just a couple of weeks. If you like, tall, lean, boyish blonds (like I do) he is perfection. And such a sweet guy to boot.

 

Of course the great thing about Remington's is the wide range of guys. There really is practically "something for everyone" there. Saturday night was great fun. The bar seemed to have quite a bit of energy with lots of laughter. To those of you who I met there, a big hello. I'm the youngish bald guy from Washington. :-) I can't wait to go back... If I lived in Toronto I'd be broke for sure.

I had a very good time at Remington's as well, but I think I'd have to say I prefer Montreal by a wide margin. As always, there were some guys who struck my fancy, but not as many choices as in Montreal.

I’m happy you had fun in Toronto and in Remington’s, fedssocr. I too would take Toronto over Montreal any day. I go to Montreal 2-3 times a year and, while I have fun in its strip joints, I find it a hassle having to cruise different clubs to sample the variety of guys on offer (I’m not a “specialist” and as such I like a variety of body types and ethnic back grounds). In Remington’s, you can find -under one roof- muscle guys like those at ‘Campus’, preppy student types like those at ‘Stock Bar’ and slender teenage twinks a la ‘Taboo’ (of which your beloved ‘Christian’ is a fine example). Not to mention that many of Montreal’s best are often at Remington’s and that Remington’s dancers are –in the most part- at least the equal of their French counterparts anyway. But what cinches it for me are the back rooms in Remington’s which, with the doors installed last year, provide a level of privacy not found in any of Montreal’s clubs.

 

Having said that, you can definitely have tons of fun in either city. As the French say; “Chaqu’un son gout!” (everyone has their own taste).

I'm with the NYObserver--Montreal is my choice. TO is too much like the US. Montreal is much more European and that makes the visit even more interesting. As far as clubs I find Stock to be great--and the booths are just as good as the "rooms" at Remingtons.
