Quinn_Massage Posted Thursday at 10:32 PM Posted Thursday at 10:32 PM I had a massage with Daniel and left feeling pretty mixed. His setup is a small room off the garage of a house. It has a fan and a window, but no real climate control, so it does feel more like a converted garage than a spa. That is not automatically a dealbreaker for me, but I think it matters when the price is similar to places that offer a much nicer atmosphere. The massage table was comfortable, and Daniel did check in with me about pressure a few times, which I appreciated. He also had a couple of good moments using his forearms. But the massage itself felt pretty amateur. I was expecting more of the long, smooth Swedish-style strokes that help the whole thing feel connected, and there just was not much of that. It also didn't seem he was familiar with using his body weight, so the deeper work did not feel as effective as it could have. The beginning of the appointment felt a little awkward. There was not really an intake conversation. He did not ask about injuries, problem areas, or what I wanted him to focus on, so I never felt like the session was being shaped around me. Personality-wise, he came across as a little cold. Not rude, exactly. Just not especially warm or easy to connect with. When the hour was up, the session ended very abruptly. I understand not going over the scheduled time, but it felt like he was watching the clock pretty closely, and there was not much of a gentle wrap-up. So, would I go back? Probably not. It was not terrible, and there were a few good things about it, but at this price point I think there are waaay better massage therapists in more comfortable spaces. If you are curious, nearby, and do not have another option, sure, give him a try. But I would not go out of my way. wallnut and BigDMike 1 1
