LAST EDITED ON Jul-04-00 AT 03:17AM (EST)[p]OK guys, listen up. A lot of us Escorts use a program called Powertool's which has a feature called "auto response". Its basically an answering machine for Instant messages on AOL. It allows us to insert a phrase which tells you that we're away from the computer and we usually include a link to our web sites. Now why is it that out of all the IM's I recieve no one prefers to follow the instructions (which is to call) if interested? I return all IM's if an email isn't left and the response I get is they would prefer to chat before calling. Now let me try and explain something to you guys. A lot of us have LIVES and do not sit in front of the fucking computer 24/7. Hence the auto response. Now if you really want to contact us then follow the God Damn instructions in the response you get! Jesus guys its a SIMPLE PROCESS! Not saying that all of you do this but its rather annoying. My auto response usually says Sorry I'm away from the computer, Please see my web page at http://www.worldescrt.com. If intersted please call the number listed in the web site. Thanks and hope to hear from you. Now WHAT in those couple of sentences is that difficult to understand?

Sounds easy enough to me! There are a lot of idiots out there, is all I can say.

Now, where can I get this Powertools program? I wondered how people sent auto replies to IMs. Is it shareware/freeware? If not, what's the cost? Thanks.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-04-00 AT 03:05PM (EST)[p]And a Happy 4th to you too Tampa! The program is called Powertool's, if you're using AOL go to Keyword BPS Software or http://www.bpssoftare.com. Its a one time charge of 29.95 and upgrades are free unless they have to totally re design the program to keep up with AOL's ever changing software. Hope that helps :)Or you can hold out for AOL 6.0 its to be released soon. 6.0 has an auto response built in.

My auto response to your posting is to remind myself not to deal with bitchy escorts. There are hassles in being a businessman, and dealing patiently with a variety of customers is one of them.

Hey Sean,

You never answered my question about where to get this Powertools program!

If you're talking about AOL IM, you don't need Powertools for an auto response. Just go up to the "My AIM" menu and select "Away message" There are some default messages to choose from or you can define and save your own. You don't even need to be an AOL user. AOL IM can be downloaded free and used by anyone.

You can download the beta version of AOL 6.0 (which is compatible with Win2000) and has autoresponse built in by typing in Keyword "Beta". I don't use it, but I know others who do.
