A recent business trip of mine coincided with Pride in LA. Although I noticed that quite a few out of town escorts were there for the weekend, I also noticed that some longtime guys had taken down their ads (only to reappear a week later). If the "green lights" on rentboy were any indication, some guys clearly solicited business through Pride. This all made me wonder, is Pride (in LA or elsewhere) a busy time for escorts? Is it better for out of towners than locals and does the business shift (more overnights, more one hour calls, more last minute appointments, etc.)?

I can't speak for LA since I've only attended their pride once and I wasn't working at the time but here in Seattle it was dead, nada. I honestly can't wait to move out of Washington and plant my roots in a real city (Chicago) hopefully sooner then later.

Hugs,

Greg

I my limited experience I've attended Gay Pride in NYC and L.A. a couple of years back and I didn't notice a significant business increase or decrease - I was busy as usual. I think some out-of-town escorts would travel to a special event (such as Pride) and combine business with pleasure.

Rentboy's green light...

Buckguy,

Whereas I have no idea about pride and the level of bussines I wanted to respond to you to share that in my case I turn the green light on on rentboy not necessarily when I am available for meeting that day, but when I am available for contacting, chatting, e-mailing and possibly arranging a meeting for some other day.

I do know that some of my coleagues only turn the green light on when they are available for meeting, but that's not set on stone, so I would not use the green light as a gauge for anything, really.

This was totally off-topic, but I hope it somehow helps.

A tight hug!
