So I agreed to meet him in in Brooklyn. When I got to his neighborhood my Spidey sense started tingling. It was a shady neighborhood and I felt unsafe. Looked like govt subsidized housing with unscrupulous groups of people hanging out in the yard.  I had flashbacks of when I was accosted once in a similar situation, where I had to run for my life out the building. I turned around and walked quickly away.

I'm not clear on this......did you try to meet him even after all this bad press and your own "thanks...avoided a bad experience"??....

No. Before.  I was  relieved to know I truly avoided a compromised situation.
