when I was a young 'un back in the 1990s (afraid of having sex due to AIDS crisis yet desperate for human touch, contact) I'd peruse the massage ads in Frontiers (remember that publication?)

I remember finding quite a few qualified therapists; there'd be a connection with some more than others but I could almost always count on a trained therapist.

Nowadays, LA seems to be pretty sparse in terms of talented therapists. H/E etc. aren't really necessary if the tension in my muscles are worked on.
