Haven't met but have communicated with (him/someone) briefly and cordially.

Willing to bet almost anything (and not commenting whether good or bad) that profile is being used as part of a travelling pack and most likely typical of what that commonly entails.

He immediately volunteered and asked whether I'd be interested in him bringing one of his gym buddies with him.

He didn't indicate whom specifically but i didn't ask
