He's been advertising in San Jose for a decade or so, so he either just moved to the Los Angeles area or he's temporarily there and wants it to seem like a home base rather than just somewhere he's visiting.  He's definitely been discussed here before, I think under the same name.  I would have hired him at some point because I have enjoyed looking at his photos over the years, but the only thing that stands out in my mind in terms of chatter about him is that he has stood up more than one client and I simply wasn't interested in going through the bother of getting to San Jose from San Francisco only to have him not answer his door.
