To answer my own question, his studio is on W14th (btw 5th & 6th) and is the one that had the fire, though the studio he uses was fine.  And it has a shower.

Took the plunge.  Great and thorough massage, great extras (which were front loaded to facilitate a more relaxed massage) and a super personable guy. 

Would repeat.  Mmx studio has also been refurbished since I was last there.
