The best luck I've had is Villa Giani in Earls Court. There at leat you can view and interview a escort before hiring. I've tried independents, but my experience with them has been poor (old photos/non-acurate stats they've sent, dower to dismal apartments to host you...)

London can be dismal as regards the escort scene, but check out the London Lads site. http://www.london-lads.co.uk

And Hoo Boy has an extensive rundown of London escorts in the review section. I found an excellent man on the site during my last trip to London. I'm trying to arrange another trip to London, primarily to see HIM!

As for things to see -- there's a comedy club, called Comedy Cellar that has gay/gay-friendly acts on Tuesday nights. It's in the cellar (duh!) of a bar called Bar Code in Soho. "Time Out" usually has listings. Was terrific the night I was there.
