NYSC West 80th has both a sauna and a steam room.  Action is very hit or miss.

NYSC West 94th also has both and has a reputation for action but don't know what times work.

I have heard crunch 34 and 38 are good.  Im planning to sign up.

Astor Pl steam reopened this work. Not sure if there’s a longer term plan to replace it. The entire shower area is wreck.

oh really?  I thought they were permanently closing it.  thats good to know.

Well turns out they are indeed redoing the entire shower area including replacing the steam room with a “state of the art infra-red dry sauna”. Got the official email last night.

I’m reminded of the sauna at the now gone NYSC Irving Place. Some wild times in there pre-Covid.

thank you!  hmmm, I wonder what the sauna will be like.  So I guess they re-opened the steam room just for a few days?

If they're re-opening it for  "just a few days", that sounds like an opportunity to go out with a bang!  Last time I was in there, they had de-activated the annoyingly harsh overhead lights.
