Ever since 9/11 I have noticed all the new escorts being reviewed for the first time, espically this week. Of the 66 or so reviews Wednesday, Thursday, and today, 26 are first time reviews, which is an amazing 40%. I know you escorts visit and talk to each other every now and then, do you see a trend since 9/11 that there are alot more new escorts out there and are you worried that maybe there are too many and it has or will affect your client base?

It gives me pause on the age-old question of whether or not I should raise my rates, but so far it hasn't cut into my business that I can perceive.

Here in the Bay Area the dot-bomb meltdown has spawned a lot of techies-cum-hos. I got called on a three-way with one; it was like his fifth appointment ever. In a way, I was one of those people; my last day job was at a company which "serviced" a lot of dot-coms and was hit early by the recession. I left before things got too ugly.

I'm sure there's a point which the market gets oversaturated, but until that is the case I tend to say the more the merrier. A lot of these newbies are getting their clients off of AOL, which are often first-time or very infrequent clients. That is, the new escorts are "creating" new clients. Even in a recession, it's not necessarily just the pool of escorts that is growing. If these boys turn out to be professionals, chances are they'll be introducing a lot of men to the ho-hiring hobby (HHH). If they're not, they'll pass their shelf life fairly quickly, and they'll make those of us that are pros look better.

Devon, obviously there are a lot of scorts who have been around for a long time that have yet to be reviewed here. For example, I just got my first review last month.

There are a lot of guys who advertise in Frontiers, year in and year out, who haven't been reviewed. I feel like some of these guys are old friends just from seeing their ads in every issue! And a few of them seem to have found how to stop time because they never change their age in their ads! ;-)

Just learnt about this site. Am really enjoying it. Great job Hooboy! I am one of the victim of the New York dot bomb phenomenon. Am venturing into the "companionship" business. Great to read about all the in's and out's of the business. Had my second client only last week. Am really a novice. :-) Maybe I can get some advice from others more experienced. My decision to do this was driven by two factors: economics and LOVE the company of gentlemen. I am also a mature guy. I wonder if there are really enough clients who are into experienced, mature and more of a companion type of escort. Would love to hear from all.

That's so interesting to me. Do the "non-reviewed" escorts and clients make up a different sub-culture? I guess if an escort primarily relies on print and somehow draws clients that don't use the Internet, it can work out that he'd never get reviewed. I wonder if there are escorts who've been doing this for years that don't know about this site?

When I was in LA I met an escort who had bought his parents a house with his earnings but still lived in a studio apartment. There was no computer in the apartment and when he gave me his business card there was no email address. Amazing.

Ditto the B.A.R. in SF. This one kid's been twenty for at least the last two or three years, lucky bastard. I don't know whether to hire him or scratch his eyes out. }>

Ironically your post has been somewhat addressed in late November or early December. Hooboy had posted a question to the group about this topic requesting our feelings about posting some of these reviews. My suggestion, at the time, was not part of the majority. It should be easy to find the thread since Hooboy doesn't post too often. You might want to do a search using his name for the topic.

Cheers! Ritchie

I'm not worried because I know a secret that you guys are not aware of, that addresses this topic. But I promise I will reveal it in time.
