New Rentmen Beta App

This just popped up literally a second ago on the site. On the main page click try rentmen beta at the top left and you can try out their new page layout for easier browsing on a phone.

I looked at it on desktop and on mobile.  It's slick, but I hope they test it out a lot more before making it live as the default, particularly for mobile.  I tried it out on android. 

The sorting on the front page is a bit wonky, I'm not sure if it's by distance, or some other factors.

The way it handles videos is not ideal:

• promoted 'front page' video tiles are nearly identical to local/nearby ad tiles, you can scroll down into that part without seeing the cue that it's the video section.
• touching a video ad opens a overlay on the tab that plays the video with sound
• trying to dismiss the video overlay can result in the video sound continuing to play with no way to stop it without closing the tab.
• There's no setting to avoid autoplay videos.

It's slick, but damn is it beta buggy.  

On a mobile device, it looks better, but on desktop, it's entirely too busy.  Overwhelmingly busy.

The beta version offers more info than their regular app. But the filter settings are kind of weird.

I like the feature for its search capability (although I wonder if the search algorithm also excludes results if providers don't include certain data points (e.g., rate)...although has anyone figured out how to still have the tile view for search results once one has made his filters?

 

not that it matters, coz I still end up going through everybody anyway.

On desktop, I like the search, and large photos.  I'm not crazy about the mobile version and I think I'll miss having the search options on the right.

Definitely a lot better in some areas.  Reminds me a bit of the Romeo interface, with better functionality.  Also a little bit of the RM Messnger app which I’m more blah on.  
 

Better search function in some areas, adding to/removing from the buddy list is more intuitive, interestingly, it allows clients to delete previous reviews they’ve previously submitted (curious whether providers have the direct ability to delete/hide reviews).

The functionality on a computer seems off though.  Back function does not work well.

Very much a Beta.  Lots of floating text obscuring the page, at least that's what I experienced.  It would be helpful if they would breakdown the "intos" in to Give and Receive, like some of the European escort sites.

Have they removed the dates when the pictures were taken/submitted? Because that's a huge indicator for me...

Yes it is.  It is not opening.  

That is the first time that has happened for me in a few years.  

Adding the new app while trying to promote, left the main desktop version slip into disappearing for the moment and not accessible at this time.

I really like the radius search feature.  I hope that they start allowing higher resolution photos that make sense for the new level of magnification.  I think the larger photos are a huge plus.

The regular site is taking forever to load & I am stuck on the first page of the app. They need to fix this ASAP. I wonder if the NYC  scammer has a new ad. It’s been a few days since he has appeared.

Yeah I've had periodic problems with loading it today as well. Other sites work fine so it mus be Rent.Men's servers.

I told about this problem about nine hours ago. 

Mine finally began to work okay a little while ago.

They must have both sites tied to the same data source, and the new site likely has bad queries that causing performance issues for both sites.  I'm sure they are working on it.

Yeah, I've been having issues with the regular site for a little while before they even launched the new beta version. Nothing will come up like you guys said so I usually wait 5 min and try again. And also sometimes the messenger feature just won't load. Gets stuck on the rotating refreshing icon.
