They have and it's good news! One more state sees the light. Wonder which one is next? Although I guess we can't really count California for another few weeks.

I understand that the rest of NY State is definiely not as liberal as New York City, but with such a LARGE population of gay men and women in the Big Apple can someone explain to me WHY it doesn't happen here???

Our former Gov. Eliot Spitzer introduced a bill last year into the state Legislature that would have legalized gay marriage. It passed in the Democratic-majority Assembly, but the Republican-controlled Senate has refused to call it up for a vote. That's where it stands. Gov. Paterson is pro-gay-marriage so hopefully we'll be next...somehow.
