Did anyone catch The People's Court today (5/13/2021)? It was cringeworthy. The plaintiff (55 yr old male) gave the defendant (25 yr old male) $850 and claimed it was a loan. They'd met on gay chat site "Jack'd". The plaintiff sent a Uber to pick up the defendant and bring him to the plaintiff's apartment. This was about 1:00-2:00 am after first chatting an hour or so earlier. The disagreement was whether the money was a loan or a payment for sex.

just watched it.....I suppose the verdict was fair.......plaintiff was bitter, probably angry at himself, and might have felt sorry, at the time, for the defendant with his tales of woe......defendant saw a chance to make some needed money with a vague promise of sex and hooked up with the wrong person........

 

gee, The People's Court has certainly changed the good ol' days of Judge Wapner......the over-the-top melodrama as the announcer introduces the case needs to be toned down.......and is that the same guy as in Wapner days who interviews the defendant/plaintiff after the case??!!......

I'd have much prefered this case on Judge Judy.
