I'm trying to plan a trip next month and air fares are sending me into sticker shock big time. I was wondering if anyones used Priceline bidding for airfare? I'm thinking it might be a good idea but my arrival date I have something planned in the evening so in that aspect Priceline bidding for air fare isn't sounding so nice. Any tips or suggestions? As for the place I don't want to say exactly till things are firmed up as far as air fare goes.

Hugs,

Greg

http://www.farecompare.com will tell you the best airfares available through the airlines before they're even available or published o nthe airlines own website.

as far as the unpublished priceline airfares, i have never used it because priceline rarely has direct flights and you could end up flying all day between 6am-midnite.

good luck though.

Hey Greg;

Yapta is pretty helpful as well...(You get the option of setting your itinerary & they Email you about changes in fares.).

Here's the link:

Greg I have found http://www.kayak.com extremely helpful. They list all flights/fares available for the day you select. They also do not sell you the ticket but direct you to the least expensive source.

The major problem with priceline is the routing of the flight you select which you don't know until the ticket is bought and paid for. Let's say you plan to fly from Seattle to New York they might route you through New Orleans or some other completely out of the way place or places.

I used PL for my trip to Portland, Or this weekend and although the hotel isn't exactly where I'd want it to be I am happy with what I got and the reviews on TA were great.
