Sorry for being obstreperous on occasion

Message Boards are onlne communities where people meet to exchange conversation. Duh. No secret there. But since we can all hide behind our online identies, conflict is perhaps more often engaged in, even if that is not our own respective day-to-day personality.

 

One could analyze that to death, but I just want to say that I feel blessed to have been part of this online community for over 7 years. I've met some wonderful people through this site (both online and in person).

 

I have been particularly obstreperous lately, and I regret that. If I have offended anyone in any fashion (save my blatantly honest political comments for which I NEVER make apologies), I am sorry.

 

I enjoy political polemics and I hope my adversaries accept that for what it is - parrying deeply held beliefs/philosophies and testing the possible flaws in someone else's argument. It's an intellectual exercise which I find sharpens the brain.

 

Meanwhile, I have always tried to be a positive contributor to interesting and stimulating conversation here. My threads about Comfort Food, our average ages, and most recently, about '50's TV, are hopefully an injection of fun into our collective dialogue here.

 

No biggie, here - just a brief humble comment on why I enjoy being part of this community.

How unfortunate that you share the first name of another poster here who wrote the book on "obstreperous" and is far to much of an "asswipe" (his favorite word this week) to ever apologize for his bad manners. :-)

I am human, with feelings, emotions, neuroses and inclinations to what I deeply believe in! But what I am not is a pretender or a liar! I have told you in numerous occassions I am not the person , who you thought played tricks or games with you in the past! Maybe coincidences and timing played a role in your attitude towards me. I believe you are a good person...I trust you are different from the obstreperous persona you have portrayed when it comes to me!

 

I believe in the rules of conduct of the message boards as I am sure you do too! I have expresssed my true feelings to the forum when I said I dont want your posting privileges to be revoked! You may have made a mistake in your actions...but I would be content if you accept your fault! And I think you have! THAT is good enough for me!

 

It took me a full day of self-analysis to foregive you... and I dont waste my grey matter for nothing !

 

 

Honestly, had you not posted yesterday, I would have pleaded your case to the administrators to let you back in!

 

I agree you are a prolific poster in this board. You are incisive...funny and well-informed! If you will look back at my posts when I came back to the board from my self proclaimed hiatus-- I credited you with having something to do with it when you posted a thread on Minneapolis private stocks. To summarize my curiosity! The word Minneapolis (a city I credit for housing a memorable escort, Marchellos; and Private stock! Yes! private, I want to be one of the first if not the first to savor your mentored people!(no, I did not mean escorts are food! )

 

I admit to respecting your mentoring abilities and I decided I wanted to be a personal friend when you posted a thread on your relatonship to a black man! I gave you my number. If you still have it and want to call me ... call me, and let us explore life as friends!

 

If by chance (and I don't believe it is the case!) I am not part of the people you are addressing in your apology --I want you to know: I have no problem with you, I will post in your threads that I feel attracted to..and I promise never to incite any violent action to trigger you or any other member for that matter !
