Got hit up twice this morning by masseurs on Grindr directing me to their instagram pages, both curiously using very similar language "hit me up on instagram because I am not active here".

gecraiggg

garrisonethan100

Anybody know anything about either? Is this some sort of scam?

I am curious - does your grindr profile indicate you are interested in massage? How did they ‘target’ you?

I have not seen this particular approach before but those instagram accounts are active and have a few pics. Both “George Craig” (gecraiggg) and “Ethan Garrison” (garrisonethan100) have been active on IG for a week.

I’m pretty sure gecraiggg is https://rentmasseur.com/JorgeSB

That Grindr is most likely a fake since his location on RM shows he’s still in Orlando. No info on garrisonethan100 though.

If they include a link to a website in their profile, or in a private message, they can be reported and banned. By directing you to their instagram account, it is more difficult to get banned. In my experience, all these guys will be trying to scam you for a "small deposit" to get your credit card information.

Although I'm not in favor of reporting legitimate escorts and masseurs to get them banned, I aggressively report these scammers. If you tell them that you don't have an instagram account, they'll usually provide a direct link to the scam website. Then, you can report them and get them banned. I do this hoping to prevent them from victimizing a more naive user, and in hopes that if they get banned enough, this scam won't be worth their effort and they'll stop.

They have to be scammers as was previously discussed. I’m finding more and more that I get hit on by scammers on Grindr including guys looking for gas money so they can get to you. Makes you wonder who is real any more. Scruff is not as bad but they are still there.

Since I live in Manhattan, anyone asking for gas money is sure to be a scammer!

Anyone who would actually NEED "gas money" to get to you is probably not someone you want visiting your home, anyway.

The world is full of scammers and thieves. And they believe folks hiring for these types of services are very unlikely to report being scammed.

Bringing unvetted strangers into your home for any kind of transaction is very risky business. You are probably lucky when they just take your deposit and never show up.

As stated I would say 99% are FAKE

Here in ATL there is one guy who creates profile after profile (in fact I saw him on under 3 profiles at the same time). I know the person whose pics he is using and thus confirmed fake.

If you talk to them, they will ask for a "reservation" sending you to a link where you have to put in your credit card - DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!

Assume ALL grinder masseurs are FAKE!!!!!!

I recently got tapped and messaged offering massage services. Went under the screen name “BareBack2” in LA

He messaged me with the following:

”My offer are 40 for 30 Minutes, 80 for 60 minutes,100 for 90 minutes, I Do Thai, Hot Stone, deep tissue, Lingam, Erotic and prostate with a good HE”

and

“I'm on my 50% discount right now, do you want to book an appointment?”

Those rates are unbelievable. He messaged me pics of himself, one massaging someone and another in his birthday suit. No soliciting going to a website or IG, but I did say I couldn’t book tonight. He is freaking hot and i wish this real but I think he maybe a scammer too. I would like to share the photo, but idk if it’s allowed to post on this thread.

Ask him to join you on a video call to discuss logistics. If he is genuine he will agree. If he backs off, he is likely a scammer. 💆🏼
