Has anyone else had this happen? You Google a male escort's phone number and you pull up ads for a female escort using that number. This has happened twice in the past week and it baffles me. It's obviously a red flag. Thoughts?

I have experienced that situation in the past a few times.

 

In each case, the escort placing an ad was "bi" and was living with a female who also escorted. They each shared the same telephone number. Google happened to snag the female ad rather than the male ad in the search.

 

It is not necessarily a negative sign.

 

Less likely, however, it could be the phone number of an agent (pimp) who sponsors different escorts advertising on rentmen and elsewhere.

This used to happen sometimes in the past on the sites that had a lot of women but only an occasional male escort. We were never quite sure what it meant- whether it meant the ad was fake, or whether the male and female were a couple/ or possibly just friends, or maybe they both had the same agent. It didn't usually occur on the more reputable sites like Rentboy or Men 4 Rent Now. I'm not saying it has to be a scam. But I'd exert extra caution if you feel you have to meet someone with a questionable phone number like this. I'd start by seeing if the escort could give a reasonable explanation for the phone number.

and since there is naturally more female escorts than male escorts (hetero clients vs gay clients)

There is actually a fairly good probability that a male escort will get a number that has been used by female escort in the past.

 

The slight red flag (the same that exists among clients in the eyes of an escort) is how often a number is changed or the presence of other red flags now coupled with the ease to switch numbers and avoid accountability.

Oh no I have become a possible red flag:eek:. I usually just let textapp burn the number because I dont use it everyday.

I have seen this a couple of times or it takes you to a website that also contains female courtesans. Though I have had the reverse where they use their real number that is linked to their FB or Instagram page.
