The short film Sisak has been around a while, and is now available for viewing on YouTube.

Although it is billed as a love story, a deeper understanding of the film refers to Section 377 of the penal code and the legacy for gay men British law has wrought in former colonies around the world including India, where love stories fail to find a voice. Thus, it is a silent film.

Although it is a film in which the main characters do not speak this is not a silent film. There is much sound from many sources. I found that it emphasized the poetic nature of the film, including the bars of the subway cars. It is an interesting film. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Yup, no talking. No voices.

"...is written and directed by Faraz Arif Ansari and is billed as India’s first silent queer love story"

Even the original silent films (before talkies) were screened in movie palaces where massive theater pipe organs accompanied the film with a wide array of sound effects such as train and boat whistles, car horns, sirens, bird whistles, ocean surf, snare drums, wood blocks, sleigh bells and so on, used to great effect.
