I’ve not met him, just exchanged messages; he was roommates with a guy I used to see and I dodged him in the bathroom a couple of times.

Decided to give him a try and he cancelled an hour before the appointment. No reason given and didn't offer to reschedule for another time. I don't know the details so it could be a legitimate reason but this is usually not a good sign.
