Men of Laguna Beach "Launch Party" for Calendar 2008

"Men of Laguna Beach Calendar Launch Party Set"

Everyone is Invited to Join Calendar Models at Party

LAGUNA BEACH, CA – On Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm most of the Final 12 Calendar Contest winners will be present to help kick off the first-ever Men of Laguna Beach Calendar (http://www.menoflagunabeach.com) at the official Launch Party. The party will be held at Laguna’s beautiful home, style, gift and art store: Stylistic Intervention, 381 Forest Avenue, in downtown Laguna Beach 92651 (http://www.stylisticintervention.com).

Many of the models will attend including first place winner, Caleb King and second place finisher, Gustavo Marzolla and they will be joined by lots of men representing the other months of 2008.

“Our calendar is showcasing one of Laguna’s best natural resources, its great looking men,” said calendar producer, Fred Karger. “We are extremely proud of how well it came out, especially because it was an all volunteer effort. ALL proceeds from the sales of the Men of Laguna Beach Calendar go to support our efforts to SAVE the BOOM – Forever!!! http://www.savetheboom.com , The Laguna Beach Resources Center and the Laguna Beach HIV Advisory Board.

Over 50 people volunteered their time and talent to make this first-ever calendar possible. The result is the hottest all male calendar on the market for 2008. The Final 12 were selected from the 35 men who tried out at an open casting of gay and straight men back on July 7th. The field was narrowed down to 20 Finalists and then to the Final 12. All 20 Finalists appeared on AOL’s QueerSighted.com, which has had 1.5 million page views and 570,000 votes cast, as well as a vote in the Laguna Beach Coastline Pilot Newspaper. A panel of judges then picked the 12 men, one for each month, and awarded the top finishers cash prizes.

Caleb King, was the 1st place finisher and won $1000.00 and is featured on the cover of the calendar. 2nd place went to Gustavo Marzolla and there was a five way tie for 3rd place.

The calendars are now on sale on line at our new web site: http://www.menoflagunabeach.com and are on sale at select stores in Laguna Beach. The calendar retails for only $14.95 and will make the ideal holiday gift – one that keeps on giving for the next 12 months!

“Special thanks go out to everyone who helped put this calendar together,” added Karger. “Over 50 volunteers were involved from start to finish, but we at SAVE the BOOM!!! want to give special thanks to both celebrity photographer Cris Lapp http://www.cristopherlapp.com who took all of the amazing photos, and to our Graphic Designer extraordinaire, Brad Mayo http://www.dayonecreative.com who did the incredible design work on our calendar”
