Anyone have any info on Ogunquit? I am looking to stay a few nights after the 4th. I need info on hotels or motels in the area in which you do not need a car to get to night spots. Also any info on the clubs, bars and restaurants would be great.

Thanks in advance.

A lot of people say the Arrows restaurant is over-rated and pretentious. I'm not speaking from experience, but from that of a number of people I've spoken with including a co-worker here in California (and others in Ogunquit, of course). I had some good lobster at the Oarweed Restaurant.

Well I guess. Appetizers - $19; Main course - $46; Tasting menu - $95.

Not exactlly cheap for a sleepy little New England town.

This thread from 2005 still has some good guidance:

As for Arrows, expensive but you get what you pay for, IMO. If you like that kind of place, also expensive and worth it is the White Barn Inn up the road in Kennebunkport. Where one occasionally sights George I and She Who Must Not Be Named.

If I ever get the chance, I'll want to try the 10-course dining experience where the chef plans the whole thing. Always wanted to tell a world-class chef "surprise me!" }(

Expensive, but probably a life-long memory.

Again, I've never eaten there, but I would advise checking the reviews at http://www.tripadvisor.com (and asking some locals once you get there) before spending the $$.

I have, half a dozen times. Five were a dream, one was a dud.

Just one person's experience, of course.

Aw! Surely "any info on Ogunquit" includes the novelty that Her Bultitude is in residence.

I stayed in "Moon" also, and really liked the room, but was also disappointed the guy didn't come with the room, too!

:-) :(
