Some trivia:

 

David Sylvian, formerly of the great JAPAN, reprtedly took his name as a tribute to New York Doll Sylvain Sylvain. Look for David Sylvian's first solo record, 1984's "Brilliant Trees." And Sylvain Sylvain? He became a cab driver for a while... but is now reunited with David Johanson(and others)in a re-formed NEW YORK DOLLS.

 

Yes, that is the late Klaus Nomi with Mr. Bowie on SNL. And if you're interested, there was a fascinating documentary made about him called NOMI SONG. He released several albums, by the way. Also, the additional backup singer in the video is a very young Joey Arias.
