I saw Spider man over the weekend and thought it was very good. Young actor, James Franco, is certainly a nice piece of eye candy and is one reason to go see this flick, but the rest of the movie was quite good too. But am I wrong in saying that it seems like the Spider Man franchise may be starting to show signs of "old age?"

Disturbia was the better of the two movies. A great edge of your seat thriller which starts out with a heart wrenching traffic accident and has you in thriller heaven for the last 15 minutes. Young actor Shia LaBeouf (can you believe he uses that name?) is terrific as the 17 year old under house arrest with nothing better to do than scope out the neighborhood to relieve his boredom. David Morse is sufficently creepy as the murderer next door.

In case your wondering, this is a modern day remake of the Hitchcock classic "Rear Window" starring James Stewart. Good film!

RE: Movies - Spider Man & Disturbia

I saw both movies and liked them. I'm getting together with some friends to see Spiderman 3 again, but this time on IMAX.

Showing age, huh?

hmmmmmm.... I wonder how Shia LaBeouf would do if he took over the Peter Parker role from Toby Mcguire.

Ed, thanks for the reviews. I would like to see both of them. Today I finally got to see Fracture with Anthony Hopkins and the ever sexy Ryan Gosling. It's really good for a lawyer movie.

Speaking of Shia LaBeouf, try to see him in the wonderful independent film, "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints",which was recently released on DVD. His powerful performance was an eye-opener for me. Another terrific young actor who continues to impress me is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who I recently saw in "The Lookout".

I agree that Spiderman 3 has gotten a bad rap from critics and some others on this site. I saw it yesterday. Sure, the forward motion is a bit slow at times - although some might call it relaxed rather than slow. The action sequences were very well done. Those special effects are stunning. Maguire is starting to look a little blowsy as he ages. Franco remains stunning, absolutely stunning. I want to nurse on that man's tits!! And Kirsten Dunst was terrific. I don't know what downer Andrew Sarris of The New York Observer was on when he wrote his dismissive review...

I liked Disturbia alot as well. The cute Asian guy who plays the best friend of the main character is a stunner!

Don't forget that Shia LaBeouf will be in "Transformers" on July 4th.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is definitely a cutie in my book. Its a good thing that he can act too :+

I share your opinion of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in "Mysterious Skin" and have already bought the DVD after having originally seen this movie in a theater. He also gives a very interesting performance (and is great to look at too) in the movie "Brick".
