I am moving to LA for the summer hopefully, and need a place to live. I am stuggling to find a place, whether that be a sublet, an apartment or watever. Does anyone have advice on this? does anyone know of a place? have a place? Thanks for helping out.

Craigslist and a week in the city for meetings is usually the best bet. People don't typically sublet their apartments for the summer to go out of town here, they usually come here ;)

RE: LA summer housing

If you are just looking for a place to stay for the summer and no incalls ;), then consider campus housing. There are many colleges and universities in the metro Los Angeles area with dorms and fraternity houses empty during the summer. Assuming that you want to be close to WeHO, then contacting the UCLA housing office would be the logical choice. They might have listings for summer sublets, dorms that could be leased for the summer session, as well as frat houses that were open to outsiders for the summer.

You will need a car to really enjoy Los Angeles during the summer. :)

Not to mention an air conditioner or three, thermal protection suit, oxygen bottle and tall pitcher of martinis! Last August an escort acquaintance in LA sent me an email that began: "Greetings from hell." :+

Especially if you have him living in the UCLA dorm zone and hanging out in WeHo. During rush hour that trip can easily take you an hour. Only way I survived the campus commute in WeHo was by Vespa.

Best areas to look are in the actual area you want to be in if you don't want to have to rent a car (a diffiult and expensive feat if you're under 25) or sublease one.

I will have a car, I will probably take mine from Florida. Yeah I have cheked into campus housing, something about the idea of living in a dorm over my summer as well, doesnt intrigue me as I am already dying in the confined dorm i live in now. Yeah I have done the craigslist thing, and I just have struggled to find much lol. I will keep my hopes high ;).

Unless, of course, the area you truly prefer is a really bad neighborhood, in which case it would actually be the worst area in which to look. :p

I'm beginning to think you really do like that and aren't faking it (for a change ;)).

Unlike Manhattan, there are MANY lovely areas to hang out in but it takes more than 10 minutes by Subway or Bus to get to :)
