You might be right. I guess I felt that in the overall scheme of things in this very troubled world, Sanjaya is nothing more than a joke and a poor one at that. If the correspondents feel he is worth commenting on that should be a signal as to how irrelevent they really are.

 

I believe it was Anderson Cooper who said he only attended one of these events and after that 1st time he would never go again as it all seemed silly and a waste of time.

The primary focus of the White House Correspondents dinner is generally to harpoon the issues of the day and everything that goes into making them the issues of the day.

 

That's the event where Nancy Reagan, after the flap the media made over her designer gowns, sang "Hand Me Down Rose" dressed like Carol Burnett's charwoman.

 

The entire evening is a parody send-up of "news".

 

Sanjaya will fit in perfectly.
