Did any of you catch the Anderson Cooper special "Sins of the Fathers" featuring Thomas Roberts' tale of sexual molestation as a teenager?

I always thought is was a cutie but after seeing him in this interview I upgraded him to breathtaking. What an escort he would make. My type to a "T"

Well I must be totally out of the loop! I just read tonight that Robers is gay and that he came out last year. I had totally missed that one. Funny that it was never mentioned in the interview although I did think it odd that he never mentioed his wife, and he was wearing a gold band on his left hand finger.

I guess it the old CNN policy of don't ask, don't tell (wonder where they got that from). Anderson, who had previouslu quite openly discussed his sexuality had to refrain from any further mention of it when he became a CNN regular.

Off Topic - I hear Anderson is subing for Regis while he is having his bipass op. That should be different.

I thought it was a great interview about an important subject. I was surprised to learn that the Priest, who pled guilty, was released after only one month to serve the rest of his sentence confined at home although I guess nothing surprises me anymore especially in an area like Maryland where the Catholic Church is so powerful. Kudos to Thomas for being willing to talk about it after 20+ years. Did anyone hear that he was bounced as regular CNN Headline News anchor shortly after coming out?

If I'm not mistaken, he served 10 months.

I quite agree. But I hope his next move is not to write a book about it. That would make it seem as if it was all about money.

No, I had not heard that but I wouldn't doubt it. CNN is just a tad too "wary" of suporting gays.

They have three of the sexiest gays on national TV on their network.

Anderson Cooper, Thomas Roberts and that cutie weatherman Rom Marciano, and previously there was Bill Hemmer, also gay, who jumped to Fox and has not been seen since (at least here in Canada) They (CNN) could get quite a reputation......

A Google search quickly produced a picture. I agree, he's not bad (I have been watching him for quite a while and didn't get overly excited) I guess he's not my type but then that leaves the coast clear for you.....

Give me Thomas Roberts any day.

Agree - Very Hot!

Did you catch the CNN reportage of a hurricane in Florida (probably 2 years ago now) where Rob & Anderson were both covering it and there was much footage of the two of them cuddled together giggling their tits off trying to keep from being blown down by the wind? It was a classic hoot..........

I'd bet good money that the wind wasn't the only thing being blown that night.

I'm not quite sure why you think that if he writes a book, it will seem as if it was all about money. First, given the stigma and shame that is STILL attached to victims of sexual abuse, I don't think the book would be a best-seller. Second, who are any of us to comment on what a victim needs to do to recover from that abuse. I can totally see how writing a book would be cathartic.

Boys who were abused in the 70s and 80s had no outlets to deal with the abuse. Most internalized it in various ways. But, like everything that is internalized, it eventually comes out. And, the ways it comes out is as varied and unique as are the boys who are abused. The bottom line is that most abuse victims feel that they are marginal members of society and I, personally, will applaud anyone who brings this issue to the forefront, no matter how they choose to do it. If someone makes a little money in the process, good for them.

It doesn't have to be a best seller to be profitable.

I think talking about it on national TV for an hour should be cathartic enough. A book would be overkill IMHO. That said, if he did write a book, I could see myself buying it if only for the fact that I find him so attractive. I know that is at odds with my previous statement, but go figure...... I never said I was logical.

Roberts can hardly feel that he is a "marginal" member of society. I just can't buy that. Perhaps he did at one point, but surely he has moved well past that by now.

I don't disagree that Roberts probably has moved past feeling marginalized. But, perhaps his book could help the untold number who have not. Not everyone saw the interview. This issue isn't just about Roberts. The more attention this issue gets, the more opportunities there will be for those who need help.

I'm not trying to start an argument with you, personally. I just think that debate on this issue is much needed. I'm glad you'd buy his book, for whatever reason. And, I agree that he is quite attractive.
