Leave it to the Wall Street Journal to get to the heart of the news. This Sunday, known as Super Bowl Sunday, is the biggest day of the year for hiring strippers...male or female! One company generates 17% of its annual revenue on the one day, and other agencies claim as much as 25%. "It's a little like the Christmas seeason for retailers," one agent says. Managing the schedules of the dancers is quite a complex art as most customers want them to show up at half-time, but no one can say exactly what time that will be. One agency has hired 27 new dancers and schedule more than 100 shows.

 

Performers of course complain that they have to compete with the game itself as many customers ask them to stop performing so they can watch a play on the tv. But tips can be up to $2000 per dancer, so they forge ahead. One dancer says that going to a super bowl party is like going to the zoo: "You're never sure what kind of animal you're going to see."

So I made a last minute call, and all the agency could come up with was this guy named Scott...but he wouldn't negotiate his rates even though it is the last minute! So I guess I will have to watch a strip video instead.
