I saw Christine Baranski and George Grizzard in a delightfully funny, yet, politically appropriate play by Paul Rudnick called Regrets Only last night at the Manhattan Theater Club at City Center.

It's the story of a married Upper East Side socialite and her gay best friend, a well-known dress designer. He's just lost his lover of 38 years to cancer and her lawyer husband has just received a phone call from "you know who" to help draft a constitutional amendment to define marriage. This sets the play in motion and Act Two is a hysterical romp on what happens when you piss off an older gay man with connections!

Loved the play, loved the actors, fabulous set, by Michael Yeargan, and great costumes, by William Ivey Long. It's only running for a few more weeks, so if you can, go see it. Given the number of gay men in the audience last night, it seems to have attracted a good following.

Also, “The Little Dog Laughed” posted its closing date today and will only run another six weeks. Run to see Julie White’s incredible performance and the wonderfully witty script by Douglas Carter Beane. Also, Johnny Galecki’s package is worth the price of a ticket, too!
