A Client Responds to Escort on Escort Violence - It CAN hurt your business

After several years on this board I've had my share of less than friendly "encounters" with posters on this board - both escorts and clients like myself.

 

However, I will say this from a clients point of view.

 

I often make a decision NOT to hire guys on this board who get into the whole negative back and forth. One of the reasons I've never hired Mr. Monroe is that he always seems to have too much to say in a strange and negative way on this board.

 

Interestingly enough I had a quick email exchange with Mr. Adler as he is currently in Boston - and was thinking hiring him would be fun.

 

However based on my reading of these posts tonight - I will not be hiring Scott. I will also say that I won't be hiring any of the other guys participating in this little nasty exchange. I single out Scott only because he is in my city this week.

 

While I know clients are a dime a dozen (some would say escorts are as well!) I think that the escorts on the board should realize that the type of bitchy back and forth between them can definitely affect their business.

I know Scott has been somewhat controversial on the message center. Interestingly enough, that is why I hired him. I wanted to see what his his nature in person was as opposed to his persona on-line. I'm glad I did and would gladly see him again. Just keep in mind, that it can be hard to judge ones true personality by the written postings on a website. Scott is not some angry bitter young man as one may think from his postings. If he was, I guarantee you I would not have seen him a second time.

 

Someday I will get a chance to meet up with Rick & Derick and will be interesting to see how Rick holds up to his online persona.

I hear what you're saying PWIT - However I would say that from where I sit I find the constant negative banter on a site like this to give me a view into someone's personality and that insight tends to be negative.

And I hear what you are saying Manrent but have to say that this issue goes both ways. There are more than a few posters on this site, and other sites, who are clients engaging in negative banter which would give any escort a view into their personality and that would be negative as well. It's a wonder they would even consider being hired by such guys without quadrupaling their fees.

I've been scarce the past 2-3 weeks, just minimal reading of reviews and posts, but oh boy, I come back and look at the cauldron that is brewing now.

 

Manrent.....I too have made many hire/no-hire decisions based on escort commentary in this MC. I have never specifically called any of their names, but I know the way you feel. I don't have the desire to air a grievance on an anonymous board with someone I have never met, yet escorts need to know they are gaining or losing $$$ based on how they handle themselves here, at least as far as I am concerned.

 

These outbreaks occur from time to time and each one serves to remind me that this MC and the associated review website are about: (1) hookers marketing themselves (2) johns hooking up for an agreed price (3) johns either directly dealing with the hooker or indirectly through the pimping agency in some cases. I'm not implying that any of the hookers, johns, or pimps are superior to any of the others. No judgments. It's just reality. That's why it's hard to swallow the posts of those who claim to stand on moral high ground.

I'll agree with you there and genuinely hope that I don't come across as standing on a high ground because it's really not my intent. I just stand on principles .... granted those principles tend to get beat like a dead horse (and I'm working on that in myself) but I dunno ... some things just stick out to me.

Oh holy shit! How will Rick ever be able to pay his rent now that you have declared your disinterest in hiring him? For good as well as for ill, though. I fell for Mr. Munroe 51% because of his online persona here, 49% for the bun and ab shots (acceptable ratio, Rick?).

 

Seems that each escort has to make this call. Does he expose his personality, or in any event a persona, on the boards, gambling that more clients will be attracted than driven off? Or does he lie low so as to be a blank screen for clients' projections, calculating this approach will pull the most business?

 

One escort told me that when his posting volume here went up, business went down. So he shut up, and it went back up. I thought his posts were both interesting and not offensive, far less strident than some discussed in this thread, and yet it seems they were, on balance, a turnoff for prospective clients.

 

I understand that. I liked his posts, just as I like Rick's here, but clearly taste varies widely from client to client. For myself, I'm grateful to escorts willing to participate here and expose personality, because it's one more datum to help me identify people I'd like to see. Even if -- especially if -- you don't like them, as a client surely you'd rather get that information before a session than during it.
