Granted not the luminary that Stan Lee was, but 2001 is one of my all time fave movies!

 

 

Great great movie and very prescient. My only complaint: HAL looked like a Yashica Super 8 movie camera, No?

I love doing "HAL" voice. It's almost completely unfocused. Years of vocal training taught me how to vary my vocal focus, so I can put it anywhere from just above my vocal chords (Thus the "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that") to a steel-piercing high-C of Mahler's eighth.

 

Great fun. The defocused voice is great for sotto voce comments that I don't want anyone outside of three feet to hear.
