I am sure a few posters around here have seen the new Sacha Baron Cohen movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. A few in my office are just raving about it. It’s on my list to see some time during the holidays in the next couple of weeks. The nude wrestling scene sounds killer.

For those who have seen the movie did the guy who played Borat’s son look familiar? Gay porn star / escort Stonie goes legit at least for a while. Any hook to pull an audience I guess. Here are links on the details.

I am wondering what kind of office you work in, that would have people raving about it? Is it full of perverts or barely past 17 yr olds, who took their girlfriend for an taste of unspoken fetishes, shocking sexual behavior, bear dung, and lewd obsene words referring to various private boby parts?

It was about as trashy ever seen, and hard to see anything redeeming about it. Any bad porno movie has more interest then this whatever!

Didn't really take any talent or fine acting.

I did understand some of the dialog, since Bprat repeatedly spoke a couple of words like Good Day and Thank You in Polish, and they were definitely not from Kazak, or Hungary, and Romania, where credits stated at least some of the non U.S. scenes were filmed. A lot of the 1 hour 24 minutes were spent following a marker pen line, that traced travels on a Cyrrlic worded ancient map of Eastern Europe and the U.S.

The audience was sparse and occasionly one could hear a nervous embarassed guilty giggles, when there were no really side splitting belly laughs to be had in what might be a comedy !

Spend your money at your own peril.

But then, you might like it!

That's for sure. I wonder what Stonie did with the 10% of the fee he got for the part? }(

My office has a mixed group of different ages with a heavy concentration of the South Park generation. As one of the newspaper critics put it, if you are over 35 you may not like or get this movie. I may see the movie out of self defense for when these kids start hurling insults based on scenes from it.

RE: Borat: Cultural Learnings ?

borat or boring!

Just realized there is a similarity!

The bf and I just went to see this film. There's a difference in our ages (he younger than I) and rarely do I find the same things funny. I went to the film expecting it to be stupid humor.

I'm sure this is gonna be one of those films you either hate or love.

For me ... I was surprised.

I couldn't even drink my soda because I was laughing hysterically from start to finish.

I saw it today. I think I missed some of the jokes as I had a hard time understanding what he was saying (wierd accent)

For me it was just OK. Some stuff was really funny but mostly it was pretty juvenile. On a scale of 5-10 I'd give it a 5.

I kept looking for the porn star to appear. Was he the guy in the gay pride parade that grabbed his crotch? Can't think who else he could be.

I saw the movie but don't remember Borat having a son. I'm sure I would remember if I saw this guy in a frontal nude scene.

It must have been left on the cutting room floor.

Pierry and Great hands,

You must have missed the son, since you were laughing so hard from start to finish, and spilling your drink!

Now that is funnier then the movie!

If you watched Jay Leno a couple of nights ago, you could have had more fun watching Borrie helping Martha Steward demostrate how to make a (square correred) bed, which a lot of hotels like the Marriott have forgotten how to do it. Unfortunately, as some will say Boring was so interruptive and studiply obscene taking off his clothes, getting into the ruffled bed and suggesting several times, that she get in for some sexxy! She never did get the bed made, because of the attempted funnies he made to her, over and over.

The accent is a mish mash of Eastern Euro, he heard but didn't learn growing up in Israel.

You must have mis-read my post. I do remember Borat's son in the movie. What I was pointing out was that his did not appear nude as a LIVE character in the movie. You see Stonie nude in the pics that Borat is showing to another person.

And I did see the bit with Martha Stewart on Leno. I know she is publicizing her new book, but I think the whole bit with the bed was a setup for Borat.

Yes Handy, I know Perry was the one who did not see the Son's pic. Perhaps he was distracted for the second it showed.

But you were the one who almost spilled his soda laughing from beginning to end, which seems unlikly from the limited real funnies.

It was extremely POOR taste to subject Martha to the idiocity, since she could barely deal with Bor! She was so embarassed, that she could barely talk. More so, since he kept interrupting her with his limited sexxy lines. It certainly didn't further her status with the audience unless they are all teenage dropouts, and they taught she was in on the attempted joking. But I seriously doubt it.

What do you think Donald Trump would think of that madness passed off as comedy or talent with poor Martha caught up in it?

The Donald is such a hoar (did that spelling get past the bad-word filter?) for publicity and seeing himself on TV that he wouldn't care so long as his puss was on the screen.

ROFLMAO!

Yes, you got past the filter -- and you did it with a word that connotes issues with hair. PERFECT for discussing The Donald! LOL
