I've noticed that ever since Daddy's version of M4M has surfaced, there are a disproportionate number of reviews from first time reviewers.

Wonder why this is? Any thoughts?

In My Old School Opinion

Although there has been an abundance of suspect reviews, one needs to look no further than the 10/05 review(see both reviews and reviewer's info) of Justin/Austin and his previous write-up to guage the climate of escort reviews and escort message boards.(I still wonder if posted reviews are even scrutinized anymore)

Reviewing an escort has been de-emphasized.

The simple, honest escort review is dead.

Newbies are just following the lead established by high-profile, attention hungry escorts.

Now, It's about keeping your name in the review section, making your photos huge in posts by tagging them with hot, horny, hung and(insert foreign country), rattling on about your unsafe bathhouse escapades or bumping up your posts higher by adding useless information either by the escort or his clique.

A saturation of Paris Hilton-styled, self-motivated promotion is the norm. A small, select number of escorts receive all the attention whether it be zero enlightenment reviews, blogs, phony award ceremonies or non-stop offense tears from their rabid fanbases. Should anyone disagree with their view of "their boy", then God help you.

Escorts aren't escorts anymore. They are supposed self-made journalists and celebrities.

It's all part of that "don't you wish you were as fabulous and on the inside as we are."

But not in true society, just in the confines of this world(however it is defined in small scope).

Which reminds me--I've stayed away from the review-writing process and the reading of message boards for quite awhile. But I'm noticing some jarring admissions. I believe many members would be happier if they got back to f$cking instead of focusing on how to make an escort love me or how to make an escort your boyfriend or I want my escort to be my best friend.

If you believe these transactions are ANYTHING other than friendly commerce, seek professional help. If hiring escorts/strppers has evolved into ANYTHING other than a pleasurable way to blow off steam, then, again, seek professional help. Fantasy has replaced your reality. Escorts are SUPPOSE TO MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD--it's their job! It's part of their psychology! Let's remember that!

Above all, hiring tons of escorts means just that--you've hired alot of escorts. It doesn't give you extra power in the world outside nor does it provide prestige in that same world. Reviewers aren't superstars or studs--you just have money to throw around and escorts LOVE money.

But I digress.

Do the majority of escorts even respond to emails anymore?

Every ad I see says "phone only" which is derived from the fact that when emailing, many escorts believe that most potential clients are only looking to collect nude photos without the slightest notion of actually hiring someone. When one phones and the escort picks up, the conversations are usually rude, short and snappy because those same escorts think they are being "played" by the caller or the escort is on the defensive waiting for the caller to break into phone sex mode. Should one leave a message? Who knows. High-profiles, low-profiles and porn stars seem to be oblivious to returning calls or even checking messages.

I sill love the ones that are offended at the thought of an hourly appointment. It's so beneath them.

But what is one to do.

One can no longer educate one's self on an escort's past reviews because they have been condensed or eliminated on this site. On another escort review site, most reviews are written by the same reviewers.

Or, people are more concerned with asking whether someone has hired an escort rather than actually just taking a chance and hiring a guy if he's not reviewed and supplying readers with a fresh perspective on a fresh face. It's called disposable income for a reason.

When I reviewed somewhere between 25-30 escorts over a period of time, I was concerned with two things: are you what you said you are and how does it translate to my satisfaction in the sack--that's it!

I had no trouble being friendly but I have my own friends. I am not or was not interested in worshipping a bod, tipping a thong, falling in love, solving problems or being a mentor or a daddy. I'm about safely and cleanly banging.

Whether client, poster or escort, if it's not contained in the review section then I didn't give a shit about what you had to say on any topic at any other time. My person will function and thrive with or without your input. Again, I'm ALL about(see previous paragraph)

Although I think the art of f$cking and reviewing might be a concept of the past, I'd like to see more escorts shut up, more posters grow up and more reviewers open up.

I firmly believe THAT is what Hooboy would have wanted.

Have a wonderful objective day,

"Although there has been an abundance of suspect reviews"

I always thought there was an abundance of suspect reviews.

"The simple, honest escort review is dead."

I think the jury is still out. I don't see Daddy going the way of CNET and taking huge bribes from escorts. (Escorts are too cheap.) But it could happen. Gee, I wonder, how much free escort sex can Daddy take on in one day?

"A saturation of Paris Hilton-styled, self-motivated promotion is the norm."

She's the new Andy Warhol without the talent and bad wig. The young and the dense-less have always tried to imitate their vacuous icons. How else can one be a rebel? She's safer than drugs. Paris won't last forever. She'll turn 50 one day.

"Escorts aren't escorts anymore. They are supposed self-made journalists and celebrities."

Please don't tell Tom Isern this. That self-made a$$hole with think this post is about him.

"I've stayed away from the review-writing process and the reading of message boards for quite awhile."

"Jack, come back! Jack! Come back, Jack!"

"I believe many members would be happier if they got back to f$cking instead of focusing on how to make an escort love me or how to make an escort your boyfriend or I want my escort to be my best friend."

Sounds like something I would write.

"Do the majority of escorts even respond to emails anymore?"

Those lazy fu@ks!

"I sill love the ones that are offended at the thought of an hourly appointment. It's so beneath them.

But what is one to do?"

Go to the gym? Read a good book? Take a new class? Start a new project? They all work for me.

"One can no longer educate one's self on an escort's past reviews"

Now, THERE'S an education to be proud of.

"When I reviewed somewhere between 25-30 escorts over a period of time"

Hot damn, you've lived!

"I'm about safely and cleanly banging."

Eeeew, I taste Ivory.

"Although I think the art of f$cking and reviewing might be a concept of the past, I'd like to see more escorts shut up, more posters grow up and more reviewers open up."

Well, I'm all for that, especially the part about Tom Isern shutting up. How do we get that to happen, again?

I enjoyed the read. Don't be such a stranger. Sometimes, a little cynicism can be fun. :-)

Southern Blue. You are so right in so many area's as to the Review's.

They now are either too Little OR too Much. BUT I guess "bottom line" is still better than none at all.

As far as any reading Entertainment, I gave that up a long time ago. They mostly do say the same thing! IMHO of course... :p :P :p

RE: In My Old School Opinion

I hope you do not mind my disagreement with you. But first I will say you're in this for the quick fun with a hot guy and I respect that. That is what you want and I have tried it, maybe because I am a bottom and you are a top, but it just does not cut for me and not what I am looking for.

First I wish more escorts would participate in the message board not less. I like getting to know a guy and the message board provides that contact. That said there are a few self serving guys, but hey I would rather have them than not.

Two sorry I never look for a one hour appointment. I do not like them. Mainly because I enjoy spending time with a hot masculine guy, who is into a lot of kissing and body contact before getting to the main event. There is usually so much I want to do with a guy I can not get my fill sometimes in even two hours.

Three most of my contacts this year have been repeats but I do have a couple of new ones that I have a review in quene or will be writing. I do agree it would be nice to take a chance and that is just what I am doing. I have a couple of just average guys I am going to take a chance on and write a non-glowing review for first time, not bad ones just okay, but no thanks. I do not understand you're argument for not posting reviews of your own. Reviews of new guys, from established reviewers

Four I do agree there was a point in my hiring I was looking for more but actually I am now out there for the enjoyment of the guy and the sex. For me I need both ends satisfied.

Finally, I would agree that a lot of the more well known guys want longer appointments and are pricing accordingly. That said, that is their business decision. If the market is letting them do it then let the market place decide. I am sure if their business fell off and they need to make rent, I am sure they would do the one hour appointments again. The dollar does speak.

RE: In My Old School Opinion

Why do you assume one size fits all, when it does not. Human relationships are not always neat and conventional. People do things for reasons, in this community, just as in, say, "may-november" marriages. Wishful thinking is one thing, but there is sometimes more to it than that... one should perhaps not be so quick to judge.

Who would have thought that my simple little question would have inspired such long winded replies?

Great rants, to be sure - but I don't think they address my question (or am I just not getting it):-)

RE: In My Old School Opinion

(or am I just not getting it):-)

Zip.....You're getting it....or not....in this case. As to your original question, I have the same feeling. I regularly check out the reviews, and appreciate those clients who submit them. All these first-timers are suspect, and IMO, we are down to no more than 2 or 3 quality reviews per week. I just scanned the reviews this week, and out of 23, there are only 5 of them that I would even consider to make a "hire" or "no hire" decision. By the way, that does not mean that I consider those 5 to be good reviews. I give no credibility to any review from a first-timer nor do I use any review from a repeat reviewer, if it is full of adjectives yet lacks the essential facts of what happened.

Note: this is not to discourage first-time reviewers from contributing, but how about becoming a second-time reviewer, and guys like me may take note of what you say.

For what it's worth, the reviews I've submitted over the years have been for one purpose. If my experience with the escort pleased me I

feel it a bonus for the escort if it helps him to gain additional clients when I submit a review. Some reviewers prefer not to go into

the intimate details of the session. I feel revealing them gives the

escort's prospective clients an "in" on what to espect, particularly

at what the escort excels.

While its true everyone has been a first time reviewer, I too am surprised by the number of "this is my first review" reviews. And generally its as though the people feel they can buy friends. If a person has to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to have a friend, then they are missing something. If I hire someone to cut my hair, or if I go to the dentist, I go there for their services, not neccesarily friendship. Sure friendships can develope and in my case I stay in contact with two escorts. But for the most part I hire a person to have intimate times with, and I expect that a person who is in this industry, would show me the best time that they possibly could. If they do, then I may post a review, if they don't then I may post a review. I have not had a review accepted on Hooboys, but I have had reviews posted on another site. I try to stick to the facts and tell people everything that happend without getting too windy. Anyone who posts a review that says "well I just say what happend I will keep between the two of us"...now that is a usless review. I have no idea if the escort was a top, bottom or versatile, and I don't even know what happened, so maybe they just laid around chatting for an hour... who knows, certainly not the people reading the review. No body is doing anyone (escorts included) a favour by posting a review that is not specific about what happend between the escort and his client. I want to know the personality of the escort and I want to know what to expect from him. Some people are turned on by aggressive escorts, and some are not. Some people want to have a sensual experience and some do not.... so I expect to know these things before I spend time with a guy.... then I will be happy and he will be happy that he met my needs, and lets face it an ecsort wants to have satisfied clients.

I have noticed more first time reviewers and a lot of first time REVIEWED escorts.

I can tell you that at least some reviews are real though, since I posted one myself in the last few weeks. I post about four or five times a year, always under the same name, and I see that there are other reviewers who have done a lot of reviews. While I have learned to trust certain frequent reviewers whose tastes accord with mine, I can still usually "smell" real reviews as opposed to escorts' self-composed ones.

Generally, I disregard the two liners that just say the escort was fantastic -- anyone can say that. Also, if they do the whole "I'm keeping the details between us," they're more likely fake -- just don't want to have to make anything up. Or if they're not fake, they're so uninformative that who cares?

Real details also sound different from standard porno lingo. If you read closely you can often tell...

>Has anyone who has submitted a review ever NOT been a first

>time reviewer? }(

Yeah, but think how many reviews there would be if they would as least write a 2nd review.

With the old Hooboy site I've had a few escorts actually admit that they, or a friend, wrote their first review to get them listed on the site. A couple admitted to writing a review when times were a little slow. Not sure how wide spread the practice is, but it happens. I've been told that a postitive review on Hooboy would keep you busy for about 2 weeks, more if you made coverboy.

I guess it also depends on what Market the Guy is "Working It" in also.

NYC doesn't seem to gain the Guys alot of "Definite" Biz. Just a few more Emails=Calls... looking for Additional Pix's, and fishing for "Jerk Off" email Material! I'm guessing the Mid-West is a different story?

BUT I guess that's all part of the Biz anyway.

I currently have 3 reviews published so far.

I just submitted 3 more reviews within the last

month. I'm waiting for them to be published.

I submitted the first on Sept 18th, 2nd on Oct 9th, and the other on Oct 15th.

I hope my reviews don't get pushed back since Im not a first time reviewer. Whats the deal with the all the first time reviewers?

>It seems to me that the number of daily new reviews by anyone

>has dropped dramatically.

I agree - on the old site it was not unusual to get 10 a day. Now 3 is the most likely number. No wonder there is a backlog.

I also noticed that there are no negative reviews so far. And if there's a satisfactory review of an escort, it took longer to post compared to a good review. I know that negative reviews need to be verified but how long does it take to verify it? And if the escort doesn't respond to the negative review, does the review gets posted still? So how to protect us clients?

As I suggested in another thread, my experience has been that less-than-stellar reviews, especially of 'favored' escorts, will disappear into cyberspace. Certainly makes me question the integrity of the whole system.

Ted,

As you've been told before; your Grand standing. You know exactly why your reviews are not being published. My policy hasn't changed, Your policy hasn't changed, and as a result your reviews are not being published.

It has also been pointed out that I (like Hooboy before me) won't discuss the review process on the Message Center. If people are having problems with reviews the correct procedure is to contact me at mailto:[email protected]
