Since I don't subscribe to HBO I was happy to see that ROME is now out on DVD. I've always been a sucker for "swords & sandals" movies. This series has the added benefit of good acting and a little male full frontal nudity thrown in. After 5 episodes I'm hooked.

Veni, vidi, vici!

Foxy,

I really enjoyed this mini series and look forward to the next season. The actor playing Marc Anthony looked very hot in his nude scenes. the acting, story, sets, and costumes all were well done.

Fortunately, I had just gotten TIVO before the series started so I have all the episodes, but willing to bet there are some great extras on the DVD.

One of the things I like about watching a series on DVD rather than an episode a week is that you can gorge on it and watch till you're bleary-eyed. Also, I'm less apt to lose the thread of the story line. That seems to happen a lot lately. Hmmmmmmmm.

Anyway, I aIways forget to check the extras. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting. I'm sure there are tons of deleted nude scenes...I wish.

ROME is definitely one of the Best S & S to come along in a long time. IMHO of course...

I am definitely looking forward to it's returning in Jan.

The Episode's really move fast!

IF your into the Sexy "OVER 30" Type as I am, this Production is loaded with them! LOL :p :P :p

This show was amazing. And this second season should be even better, given it's the battle b/w antony and Octavian followed by Augustus' reign. However, I hope I hope I hope I hope that they kept the fop who played Octavius. He is a remarkable actor. HBO has pretty much said they aren't going to continue the series after Rome II because it's prohibitively expensive. Still, looking forward to it.

That's exactly what I did last night when I watched the first dvd of NOAH ARC's first season! :9

I liked the "eye candy" much more than the story lines and some of the acting!

I especially appreciated the James Purefoy scratch 'n sniff card. I thought it was a nice touch.
