Alas, one thread at "The Forum" generated many, many responses because it stirred interests amongst many of the readers. I hope the day has arrived for a rebirth of more threads of a similar nature.

For almost a year to date, the forums here have lacked the interests and the quality from those to which I was first introduced back in 2000 or 2001. I can't recollect when I found the site and began to read, let a lone write.

So, come on fellows, it's almost summer time. Aside from our being out-of-doors and/or on an extended holiday or vacation, there will be times that some of us who are doing both would like to read salient threads and perhaps respond.

RE: Head & Heart

Give me a topic and I will respond! I'm all up for content and context of the male human "being". What is more important than our experiences as Human beings? How we relate to one another is equally important. This is my starter... allow me the privalage and Honor to interact with you! Intimacy involves not only the physical aspects of our being but the emotional and intellcetual aspects as well. Join me in this!

If you really want provocative posts, check out the Religion and Politics section. There are provocative posts there for days.

I don't think that 'provocative' threads ever really left the HBMC, but simply got to a point of humdrum same-ness, always chatting up the same names & issues, day after day. True, untrue or anywhere in-between, the horse had long been dead.

The ability to polarize your audience can come in many forms. This MC will be around for years to come as it serves a multitude of purposes. While i don't check in here as often as i used to, it is one of the few places i keep up with on the web. Aside from the snide, this site is a GREAT resource for those wanting down and dirty info. A big thunbs-up to the mods for keeping this site tittilatingly interesting, while still doing their level best to moderate the riff-raff. It can't be easy.

Aside from everything above, it's basic human nature to indulge in salacious minute detail every now and then. As RockHard has smartly pointed out before, the circulation rates for gossip rags is sky-high, as is the growth of such online sites as Gawker, PerezHilton and Gossiplist. Sure, it's not Shakespeare, but it's some form of entertainment that keeps people sane from 9 to 5.

It's always entertaining...

Well, at least until the headline is about you ;)

RE: The Return of Provocative Threads at This Website!

Provocative for the sake of provocation is rarely a good thing, especially if the intent is mean-spirited, which seemed quite the norm when I first joined this board. Provocation can also be manipulative, petty, controlling, contrived and tacky, until some creative troll comes along with his version of "What's that smell?." I do enjoy creative manipulation, which in my world can be another form of seduction.

I don't miss any of the banned provocateurs (even that title is too classy for some of them) from that period. There simply is nothing worse than an evil-queen-sociopath who's miserable and hell-bent on making everyone who crosses her path miserable.

I see nothing wrong with lively, intelligent discussion and debate, especially on provocative subjects. But it should never be forced or contrived. For me, artful disparagement can also be enjoyable. Gay men are often very good at all of these but not enough of them post here. They aren't singing up on any other escort review site, either.

All of my private correspondence with Daddy has been delightful. He strikes me as smart, caring, hard-working and fair. I don't keep track of backstory and/or gossip relating to this site because I prefer to mind my own business. I don't enjoy a snoopy neighbor and I sure as hell don't want to become one.

I like the changes here, which explains why I still post. And contrary to what some hateful, brainless, idiot, assholes think, I couldn't possibly hate Tom Isern because he makes such a terrific dupe.

Here's wishing every gay man pride and self-respect. In life, you get what you give. :-)

"hateful, brainless, idiot, assholes"

Be careful. You could be considered, by some, to be all of the above.:p

""hateful, brainless, idiot, assholes""

You do know they exist.

"You could be considered, by some, to be all of the above""

Like I've said, I have no control how others perceive me. Furthermore, I haven't a hateful bone in my body. I love life too much, and I especially love mine.

RE: The Return of Provocative Threads at This Website!

I did not begin this particular thread to seek venom, disparagment, name calling, and vertuperativeness. I did write it in hopes to engage in some serious, thought-provoking dialogue if divergent.

Personally, I yearn NOT to come here and read content that brought the website to a standstill this time last year. I know it's my choice, but I would like to see threads which require one to think and to respond WITHOUT the aforementioned NEGATIVES OR PERSONAL ATTACKS!

I'd like to see the fights and the jealously or whatever evilness that exists handled elsewhere, not in this forum or in the threads that I decide to pen. Thank you, mature adults!
