Who comes up with these National Whatever Days? But if I knew ahead of time I would’ve done it today. Had it done two days ago when I went for a full physical. My doctor was on vacay so I ended up dealing with her assistant. I provided urine sample for the gonorrhea/chlamydia and blood sample for everything else. But she said let’s do the swab too for the gonorrhea. I went along with it but was the urine enough? I feel like the swab is a bit of an overkill.

If we had kept using condoms in the 90's and turn of the century now with PrEP HIV would be history...

While I think we didn't use enough condoms, it seems there were quite a few more long-term HIV+ survivors than initially assumed. (They used to think it was like 2 years from infection to death and turned out even without meds that wasn't true for quite a few people) and critical mass had already been reached by then. The horse was already out of the barn.

Your doc's job is to keep you safe... Let them do their job.

Better overkill than the alternative ;)
