ATM withdrawal overseas. WISE card
Colton replied to Alfstoria's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
I believe Wise keeps your money at a bank, just not its bank (which specific bank will depend on the currency, in the US it used to be BBVA USA, but may have changed) You would get FDIC insurance through that bank for a dollar account. For other currencies, it will be banks in other countries. I believe for Euros its a German bank. The previous poster brings up good points, but Wise is a public company listed in London. Its not a fly-by-night operation. Another thing to keep in mind is that having a foreign bank account creates some US tax reporting obligations for US taxpayers. Best thing is to keep the account below the amount required to register. Per the IRS website: Foreign banks report accounts to the IRS, so this will eventually catch up with you. Also, if you expect the Euro to appreciate, you will want to make sure the account has enough room where an appreciated Euro won't push you over the $10k limit.- 26 replies

ATM withdrawal overseas. WISE card
Colton replied to Alfstoria's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
I have had a WISE account and card. I found it an easy way to get a Euro denominated bank account when I needed on. After that need ended, I didn’t find it that useful. The Schwab checking account referenced by another poster is what I use instead. Getting a WISE ATM card wasn’t easy a few years ago for Americans but that may have changed. I think it was a pilot program or trial back then.- 26 replies

If you have an Apple Watch you should also look into CoPilot (formerly DeltaTrainer). It’s similar to Future (more expensive but probably sleeker) in that you get an assigned trainer who makes routines for you and can give feedback based on what the watch tracks. I found it to be relatively affordable but I may be grandfathered with low rates. My trainer is also really good. If you DM me, happy to share a free month code.

I can also vote for Gabriel being gorgeous. Wasn't that great for a private dance however. He was only there on Fridays when I was in MTL. Does Malik show up on a regular basis, or just occasionally? I wish I could remember which dancer made someone cry after a private dance. Can't be sure, but it looked like the customer didn't set a dance limit and racked up a huge bill unintentionally, and then had to tell his boyfriend about it.

CNN had an article on Doug Inglish's new photography series "Then & Now," in which he asked models to recreate portraits he had taken of them 17 years ago https://www.cnn.com/style/article/doug-inglish-then-and-now-models/index.html

I think WestGuy makes some good points but I would consider texting the provider to give him a heads up that you found out this info. Seems like you found out in an innocent way and not being stalker-ish. Also tell him while you can’t cancel the meeting due to the timing, you made a decision and that is …. . You did nothing wrong here so no reason to not be upfront.

What do we know about when and how Montreal clubs will reopen?

Do the clubs have covers on weekends? And is Taboo worth the hike? -
Which male medical/cosmetic procedures are actually worth it?

Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get this done in NYC? I have some face acne scars from my teen years that I wouldn’t mind getting rid of. -
He isn't telling anyone to find a $50 hotel room. He is offering you a discount on his rate if he meets you in a hotel opposed to your home. Even if you use points and the room costs you nothing, he will still discount his rate by $50. Consider it a safety discount on his part.
-
Wow, there is a lot of complaining about a guy who is willing to recognize that a hotel is expensive and willing to share a bit of the cost. Maybe he would be better off not offering a hotel discount.

Is he from NYC or just visiting? NYC is listed as his home and travel destination

I think there is a second dose 4 weeks after. Will you be in Quebec long enough for that?

Hello!! As I’m visiting montreal and would love some advice as to how the clubs work I know there is a cover but how does tips and strippers/private room work? It is by song, how long do you have and what exactly happens? Any advice/insight would be greatly appreciated!!! also if anyone has tips for Jazzfest, post those too!

I'm not sure if you've ever been to Quebec. It likes to think its European. Not everyone loses their heritage when they travel west of the Atlantic. I know many people who embrace their (or pretend to have) European heritage while living and working in North America.

Capitalizing last names is common in France and many European countries.

Thanks for the tip -- decided to plan my trip to correspond with the jazz fest.

Does anyone have updated tips for a trip to Montreal? What's open, what's not, places to go for food, drinks, and music. Also some weekends in June are extremely expensive for flights. Any reason why? I couldn’t figure out what event was going on.

His original profile used to say he was a fan of the stock market, which isn’t looking that good anymore. 🤔
-
Anyone in touch with him? I thought he was coming to the US soon but looks like his travel plans changed.

What is this “review” based on? As for Brit Twink, didn’t he have a different screen name before? Something related to Kensington?
