Experiencing the good type of fear means that you are in essence looking forward to doing something, are actually thinking about it in a positive way, are not overly concerned with any potential downsides, and as such have control over your initial fears.
It ultimately means that you are just as excited as you are afraid and most likely more excited about taking part in the activity than trying to avoid it. That will be your motivation to move forward. Good fear is totally normal and healthy. Believe me when I say that you will be so proud of yourself when you do it and will be looking forward to repeat performances.
Of course it involves trust as well... but as you imply you will be among familiar folk... so in that regard there will be absolutely nothing to cause worry or concern.
