Thanks @steed8 ! Great chart. Still it important to know that in addition to "sting" some floggers give more of a thud along with the sting. Such is the case with a bull hide flogger... see below in my signature... that gives a much heavier type blow that is accompanied by a bit less of a sting. The standard generic flogger is usually made from cow which gives a sort of basic sting. Personally I have come to like floggers constructed from a heavier belting leather. It makes it easier for the Dom, but he has to know that he needs to used it less forcefully to use it responsibly. The first escort that I hired had a collection of various floggers constructed from diffetent types of hide... as part of his training he learned how to use each one for different effects. Deer is soft. Elk a bit more intense and gives a mild sting. Bull and buffalo are thicker and higher in intensity with a nice combo of thud and sting with the buffalo bring thicker and having more thud. Braided floggers can be off the charts intense as can be the latigo leather variety which is a stiff tanned cow hide. I was once worked over with a cane by a guy who did not know what he was doing... a very bad experience. Years later I attended a demo and saw how to do it properly. Single tails are only for the most advanced. Also the stiffness of paddles determines their intensity as does the material... wood is worse than leather as an example. Of course the thickness of the strands of a flogger also determine the amount of sting... there is really a lot to it... one just does not fling the thing and hope for the best.
