Don’t know what you consider close is but Rony in Lodi is excellent.
He has an interesting breathing technique. Wouldn't repeat.

Is this the “Allen” you had? Presume the abs shot is not him as it’s all over the Internet.
Just a moment...
RENTMASSEUR.COMYeah that's him. Frankly, a waste of time and money. Phil was also sub par. I have written off Batman Spa completely.

Checked it out. Same location as KTown Sauna for those that went. The wet area is totally nude and has one tub, steam room and an area for body scrub. Was quiet when I was there but played with one guy. It looks like they're opening more communal areas but they have your typical nap room and various jjimjilbang. Little pricey but they had a Groupon promo that the front desk lady told me about. There's nothing else like this in Manhattan - at least I don't think there is - so it's a welcome addition in my opinion.

Checking it out tomorrow (Monday). Will give a review after. Anyone want to meet up?

This spa is terrible. Rooms are small and barely private. The entrance shares a wall with the next door hair salon so if you want to stay discreet - good luck with that. The two masseurs I've seen - Allen and Phil - are mediocre at best. Chunky and in my opinion not attractive. Won't be back. There are much better options to consider.

Tried Phil at Batman Spa last week based on feedback on this and Batman Spa and older masseurs thread. I wouldn't say he's that much older, but not a twink - maybe early 30's. Nice and gifted guy. Decent massage at first, escalated quickly with upsell if that's what you're looking for. An ok experience that actually lasted the full hour, glad I tried, won't repeat though.
Phil is definitely in his 40s or 50s. Either that or he just looks terribly old for his age. I don't understand the recent talk about him. He's mediocre at best. Weak massage and in my opinion not attractive or worth the visit.

Got Alven or Allen few days ago. Wouldn't repeat him at all, but keep hearing good things about Phil. Has anyone seen him?

Any spas or providers in downtown Manhattan (below Houston) you'd recommend?

Bert still there and has gotten good reviews?
I thought Bert was awful. But guess YMMV.

So I pretty much crossed out Grandee and New Yorker Men Spa from my list, but New Yorker’s location is really convenient for me so I called and made an appointment few days ago. Thought I’d try someone new and maybe get lucky. BIG MISTAKE!
When I entered the room, I thought it smelled like a swamp. As I took off my shoes I realized the carpet is really wet. And it really stinks! I looked up and lo and behold: flooded ceiling! I asked to be transferred to a different room but was told all rooms were flooded couple of days ago.
I excused myself and left. I badly needed a massage that night but that smell of damp rug and dirty water cant be ignored. I have low expectation from Grandee/New Yorker, but this is just insane— operating a spa under such state!
Don't waste time or money at this place. Around the corner is Chelsea Man Spa on 29th/6th. Always have a good experience there.

Speaking of Alpha, it's been a while since I've stopped by there after a few unpleasant visits. But my last visit this week with Angel / Angelo (he's Italian from outside Milan) was exactly what I needed. A different guy with arm tats - Spanish maybe? (didn't get his name) cashed me out and I'm definitely going to stop by again. Looks like they spruced up their roster from the days of Bert. Although I'll always have great memories of Adrian there. Where did he end up? Anyone know?

Will be in NYC for work early next week. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hairy masseur at one of the popular spas? I’ve heard Shane at 27 Spa is good (and on the furry side), but curious to hear who else is out there.
He's not my type but Rodrigo at Chelsea Men Spa is hairy. He's a big guy - beefy and tall. His thighs are massive and he's got hairy arms and legs. Darker skin, maybe Brazilian? Not entirely sure about his ethnicity.

Alright I checked it out. Good location and they're definitely aiming to please here with a memorable body rub, not massage. In fact there is a sign on the massage room wall that says they don't do massages, only body rubs. So it's that kind of place, as expected. Table shower room barely has a door that shuts - very voyeuristic, but definitely not private. There are two tables in there with a curtain separating the two - my imagination ran wild while I was getting mine that another guy was having one done next to me. The massage table doesn't have a hole for your head which I'm not a fan of at all. I didn't use the head rest that was given at all which was a little uncomfortable. My masseur was decent, on the taller side (5'10 or so) and slim, not overly attractive to me. Plenty more details to share privately. I would go back - but I would call ahead and try a different masseur.

I tried Sabasti at Spa27 and won’t be repeating. Weak massage skills and just plain unsatisfactory.

Had a session with Michael @ 27 yesterday evening and I did enjoy the massage. Nice technique and was very relaxing.
Ending wasn’t good though. A bit too rushed and rough. Ended up doing it myself. Prob won’t repeat. What does Michael look like?

Same here, I’ve given Bert a few trys (and tipped very well) but my mileage didn’t come close to the others. Just not the masseur for me
Definitely same experience. Not for me.
