Thank you all for your answers! This turned into a lively discussion that did help me ultimately decide not to do it. I think the uncertainty of these times actually tipped the balance towards no, because if I had more of a certain outlook on when we’ll meet again, I would hesitate less.

A provider I have met several times texted me today asking for a deposit for our next meetings, since times are tough. Last time we were together it was a 5-day long hire, so I know and trust the guy. But I’m not really sure when I’m going to be able to hire him again, so right now it feels a little risky to put a deposit on something I’m not sure it’s going to happen. But I still feel I could help him, and anyways it’s very likely I would still getting my “money” back. Any insight, opinions?

I was all set for a may hire, but it doesn't look good. I have a wishlist that's growing as the quarantine goes on, since I have nothing but time to daydream!

@RomanticRick yes I have, and actually later this year I'm flying to London to do just that. But the reason I'd rather bring them here is that a) I prefer longer hires than one hour and even overnight b) I want to spend time getting to know the person rather than just having sex c) it's actually kind of cool, for the right kind of guy, to visit my country (it's not a mainstream destination) but your suggestion is right on the money.

I live in the middle of nowhere, where there's nothing going on. So my choices are either travel somewhere "exciting" or fly guys to my city. Last year I did it three times (fly them in, I mean). Once it was sort of a dud and the other two times it was awesome. I'm about to do it again, and I know the wisdom is to never hire someone you've never had at least a couple of hours with, but I'm willing to take the plunge again. So, knowing that I'm going against common sense, what advice would you give to help me decide on the right guy? Is it possible to get a sense of that other person before meeting them WITHOUT making them feel like they are wasting their time? or am I just crazy? thanks!
