One of my houses is in a rapidly gentrifying city. I rarely have packages delivered to the door because of the rampant theft. With FedEx, I choose the signature option. Their office is only 5 minutes away and there’s rarely a line and the staff are great. I have UPS deliver to my gym. At the summer house, packages could safely sit on the porch for weeks!

Ah, fraternities! I was a scholarship student at a fairly preppy liberal arts school and never thought I’d join one. I had never met a prep school kid before and I had social class status anxiety. I had pretty classic WASP looks, so I spent more than I should have to buy some preppy clothes to better fit in and was invited to rush several houses. I did join one and it really exposed me to a life that I rather liked for the first few years, until I turned 21 and grew bored with it. There wasn’t much hazing at that college. The one thing the brothers did to to the pledges could have been dangerous now that I think back on it was “kidnapping”. They kidnapped me after class one afternoon and dropped me off 20 or 30 miles from campus. Fortunately, I was able to hitch back.

I have an Audi SQ5 and an Audi A3 convertible at my summer place. I think the Q7 is too big. Did you try the SQ5? Phenomenal car. BTW, small SUVs are both the best-selling categories for Audi and Lexus.

As a child, I remember it as kind of a dump. We used to stay in Stone Harbor as kids and some friends and I would drive up to AC to get served beers! The Philly kids called it ‘Glantic City, or something similar. I love that Philly accent.

I’m an avid bicyclist—-road, gravel and mountain, and wouldn’t think of riding without a helmet. I’ve been in enough accidents where I’ve hit my head and was saved by the helmet. I only wear high-end helmets over $200. The cheap ones don’t offer the protection. As for motorcycles, one vivid memory is of a stunning blond riding down the 5 in Orange County wearing only jeans and boots. Must’ve been 35 years ago. Truly a golden boy.
