Airbnb rentals are illegal in many places. His apartment building might have a no-sublet clause and if it does an Airbnb could get him kicked out.

So you think his question has more to do with his fears of being kicked out for having an Airbnb, and that I'm reading too much into it?

I am planning to meet a guy in a few weeks in NYC, but unfortunately neither of us can host. Turns out that Airbnbs are a lot cheaper than hotels in the area, so I booked one. The renter of the space asked for some basic information about the trip, and I told him I was coming to NYC alone to visit a friend. He responded by requesting that I confirm that I will be the only person staying "in total." I told him that my friend and I had made plans for him to come over and for us to "make dinner together." He said that would be fine.

I don't know, but something about his follow-up question raises a red flag for me. I think the reason he was asking is because his building has a 10 PM quiet-hours policy, and he doesn't want tenants making noise and drawing attention to themselves (he told me to tell anyone who asks that I am a friend who is staying at his place while he is away for the weekend). The question does seem a little strange/intrusive regardless, but it is his house, his rules.

Should I be at all concerned, or am I overreacting?

After reading his ad I wasn’t entirely sure he was a Sean Cody model. He says “recently a Sean Cody model”. That was ambiguous to me. Recently in this case could be interpreted to mean “used to be”. If I say “I was recently in NYC” that implies I am no longer in NYC. At any rate, I’m left not knowing whether he is or he isn’t. The world will continue to rotate on its axis regardless.

Perhaps, but his first topping scene was posted just last Saturday, so I think it's safe to expect more in the future. But it's true, only time will tell.

There has been some conversation in the past about Sean Cody prohibiting their models from escorting, so either he has managed to get an exemption, or his ad may go down soon. Perhaps better to move before it is too late!

As algebra is taught now, it's not good for much. As someone who has done quite a bit of math, and someone who takes great joy in it, I find the high school grind through the curriculum in the United States to be a total disgrace. The current high school algebra track was designed prior to the advent of computers with the goal of churning out engineers and economists. Despite computers having changed these fields significantly, high school math has remained the same. As an example, teachers are still told that their students must "rationalize the denominator" and that not doing so is a great sin. This trick dates back to the time before calculators when students relied on root tables in the back of textbooks to compute square roots. It would be a lot easier to find sqrt(2)/2 than 1/sqrt(2) using root tables, but rationalizing denominators remains a relic in the curriculum to this day despite the ubiquity of calculators. There's a lot of "it teaches you to problem solve and think logically" nonsense out there. We've got a long way to go in restructuring the curriculum before we are actually walking the walk.
